What’s the Cheapest AT&T Internet Plan?

If you go by price per month, the cheapest AT&T internet plan is its Fiber Internet 300 plan, which rings in at $35 a month for your first year. But if you can get only AT&T DSL internet, your cheapest option is the AT&T Internet 100 plan. (And if you go by price per Mbps, the AT&T Internet 1,000 plan offers the best value.)

Let’s grab our calculators and dig into the details to see why these three AT&T internet plans stand out when it comes to price.

Cheapest AT&T DSL internet plan

As far as DSL internet goes, AT&T charges you the same price for any speed up to 100 Mbps. That makes it harder to tell which plan is the better deal, but the picture gets clearer if you look at the data caps.

AT&T Internet up to 75 Mbps$45/mo.75 Mbps1 TBView Plans

The AT&T Internet 100 plan costs the same, but it comes with better speeds and unlimited data. It’s also a fiber-DSL hybrid, meaning you’ll get some of the benefits of fiber internet. If you have the choice of Internet Up to 75 Mbps or Internet 100, go with Internet 100 for sure.

Quick note: The fact that the Internet 100 plan is a fiber-DSL hybrid also means it’s limited to areas where AT&T has built out its fiber network. So you may not be able to get it in your home. The best way to find out if you can get this plan is to enter your address on the AT&T site—or try out our easy zip checker tool.

Cheapest AT&T Fiber internet plan

The AT&T Internet 300 plan is the cheapest fiber plan available, but all three AT&T Fiber plans are cheap compared to other similar providers.

Don’t forget to check local provider prices
Your town or city may also have a local internet provider that offers a better deal than even AT&T. It never hurts to check with your local electric co-op or Google to see if you come up with a cheaper internet option.

Cheapest AT&T internet plan by price per Mbps

AT&T internet plans are priced pretty competitively, but what about the price for the speed you get? Is it good?

Turns out it’s a good price for the speed you get—for the most part. Let’s take a look at each of AT&T’s internet plans and the price per Mbps for each one:

The AT&T Internet 1,000 plan gets you the most bang for your buck with the lowest price per Mbps of them all. This is similar to what we found with the Xfinity Gigabit plan’s price per Mbps, so we’re not surprised.

Do you need 1,000 Mbps speeds?
Just because the AT&T Internet 1,000 plan has the best price per Mbps doesn’t necessarily make it the best deal for you. Check out our internet speed guide to get a peg on what download speeds work best for you so you don’t overspend on unnecessary Mbps.

In fact, all of the AT&T Fiber plans have a decent price per Mbps. The AT&T Internet 100 plan is okay as well at 45 cents per Mbps, but the Internet Up to 75 Mbps plan’s price per Mbps gives us the heebie-jeebies.

Counting on 60 cents per Mbps for Internet Up to 75 Mbps is correct only if you can get the max speed of 75 Mbps. If speeds in your area are slower than 75 Mbps, your value goes down. (This is another instance where we’d recommend looking to see if there’s a local ISP or another rural internet provider with a better price.)
