Outside of being a Telstra customer, Boost Mobile is the only other way to have access to the full Telstra mobile network. That’s at home in Australia, but if you’re heading overseas, Boost offers straightforward international roaming add-ons for dozens of countries. Before we get into the full breakdown of Boost Mobile’s international roaming, here’s a snapshot of today’s popular mobile plans from our comparison engine.

Boost Mobile prepaid plans that support international roaming

Boost Mobile offers a mix of 28-day and 12-month prepaid plans, all of which have access to international roaming to eligible destinations. Check out the Boost Mobile prepaid plans below.

And for comparison, here’s a breakdown of today’s most popular prepaid plans from our database.

Boost Mobile international roaming add-ons

Boost Mobile customers have access to international roaming in dozens of countries via three international roaming packs (also compatible with eSIM):

  • Boost Mobile International Roaming Small ($20): three days, 1GB of data, 15 texts, 15 call minutes.
  • Boost Mobile International Roaming Medium ($30): seven days, 3GB of data, 30 texts, 30 call minutes.
  • Boost Mobile International Roaming Large ($40): 14 days, 5GB of data, 60 texts, 60 call minutes.

How to use Boost Mobile international roaming

By default, international roaming is enabled for Boost Mobile customers, so all you have to do is use the My Boost app to select the add-on pack you’d like. Boost advises downloading the My Boost app before heading overseas, and you may either want to buy a roaming pack the day you head overseas (from Australia) or use WiFi overseas to buy a pack. Why? Because the expiry timer starts when you purchase it.

In the My Boost app, go to ‘recharge’, then extras to access international roaming packs. The My Boost app tracks international roaming usage, including calls, text, data and how many days are left. You should also receive a free-of-charge SMS from Boost when you’ve used 50%, 85% and/or 100% of your inclusions. It is also possible to stack international roaming packs if you want to get ahead of expiry or add another pack to account for a used-up inclusion. You reportedly do not need an active Boost Mobile recharge to purchase an international roaming pack.
