Maybe you’re in the midst of your own medical malady, or maybe you just miss Hugh Laurie’s impeccable American accent, but either way, it seems like you’re looking for a House fix. If you’re trying to find where to watch Dr House MD limp through Princeton-Plainsboro, then we’ve got you covered.

House may have peaked in popularity in 2008, but it is still among the most searched for shows today. And really why wouldn’t you want to watch a disgruntled genius make problems and solve medical mysteries? It is ultimately watching a modern, but legally distinct, Sherlock Holmes.

Running for eight seasons all up, the TV show House reached its pinnacle in season five earning a 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. But Hugh Laurie, and the show itself won multiple awards over its tenure so it is hard to pick a season worth skipping. Plus there is something comforting in the drama, and the unrelenting cockiness that keeps audiences coming back.

While you’ve got a few options for streaming House in Australia, there is only one affordable option that has every season - Amazon Prime Video.

Amazon Prime Video is included in the $6.99 monthly (or $54 annual) subscription for Amazon Prime. While the Australian library doesn’t have the expanse of content that the US one does, Prime Video is stacked full of classics like The Office, Law and Order SVU, and Pokemon. Plus you get the benefits of a Prime subscription like free shipping, and access to a stripped-down version of Amazon Music included in the price.

House is also available to watch through iTunes, Google Play, and YouTube but these are the pricier options. A season on Apple TV will set you back $19.99, where Google Play charges between $21.49 and $54.99 per season. YouTube is charging a whopping $60.49 for a HD version of season eight - I guess it matches the American medical system theme?

What is House MD about?

The TV show House is a subversive medical drama centered around the undeniable genius - Dr Gregory House.  The high-stakes medical intrigue will keep you on the edge of your seat, but there is more to it than pushing CCs and screaming ambulances.

House's patients are never as they seem - if they were it would bore him. With his team of diagnosticians, the New Jersey-based physician tackles the toughest medical cases. Diagnosing the undiagnosable sometimes within a spin of his cane, and sometimes deeply inside a pankiller-induced haze.

While the story follows the stories of his patients, it more so explores the relationships and the trials that follow House himself. As seasons progress the show takes a sentimental and introspective turn, making for some of the most highly acclaimed performances of the time.
