Earlier this week, Foxtel subsidiary Hubbl released its range of hardware, the Hubbl streaming box and Hubbl Glass. Alongside this new streaming platform, Foxtel launched an all-new app, LifeStyle. LifeStyle is a single-plan subscription, costing $8 per month for HD streaming on one device. There's also a 7-day free trial if you feel like trying before you buy.

What is the LifeStyle app?

The LifeStyle app is the new home for popular shows like Love It or List It Australia, The Great Australian Bake Off and Grand Designs Australia, just to name a few. It's a brand-new streaming service in Australia that hopes to rehome some of Foxtel's most popular Home, Food and Reality TV shows. At launch, it's only available via a web browser or through the Hubbl platform (exclusive to the Hubbl box and Hubbl Glass.)

Heads Up

Isn't this stuff on Binge?

Well met. Yes, well some of it. It's quite clear that the LifeStyle app is in the early stages of pillaging the most popular content in its domain from Binge. Some of its most popular assets, in fact, were previously available on Binge; Grand Designs Australia, Selling Houses Australia, Love It or List It Australia and The Great Australian Bake Off are all now exclusive to the LifeStyle app and no longer available to stream on Binge.

A quick look at the LifeStyle app shows an eerily familiar platform. If you've used Binge or Kayo before, you know what you're in for. The profile setup is practically the same, with more on-theme profile avatars.

Once you're in the app, the content rail look like a copy and paste of Binge's setup.

Upon loading the app you'll be hit with a bunch of curated TV shows, a search bar and categories for Food, Property and "Real Life," as well as the Watchlist feature carved out by Binge and Hubbl. Scroll further down and you'll be able to access LifeStyle's four linear channels: LifeStyle., LifeStyle. Food, LifeStyle. Home and Real Life.

That's pretty much all there is to it at launch. We'll be exploring the app and Hubbl more over the next few weeks, so stay tuned for more thoughts and feelings about the new hardware and platform.
