fuboTV made the cut because, of course, all of the sports channels it has. But this live TV streaming service is not only for sports fanatics. Your kids, spouse, roommates, and parents will all find channels they love and enjoy.

Which channels does YouTube TV have?

YouTube TV has great sports channels and is the best in the game for DVR

YouTube TV is one of the best live TV streaming services for multiple reasons: the channel lineup (with channels other streaming services don’t have), the unlimited storage DVR that saves your recordings for nine months, and the monthly price.

No other live TV streaming service has an unlimited DVR storage space besides YouTube TV. We all know we don’t like to be restricted when it comes to recording all of The Office or Friends shows.

The biggest bonus is the sports channels: YouTube TV has NBA TV, MLB Network, and the Tennis Channel. And they’ve recently added eight ViacomCBS channels, like Nickelodeon and Comedy Central.

But you will be missing out on the HISTORY and Hallmark channels. So which channels are more important to you?

If a show has aired anytime in the last week or two, the on-demand version will be available for a limited time on YouTube TV. But to be safe, just record it since you’ll have up to nine months to watch it. There’s no rush to finish that rom-com you’ve been waiting to watch with some good company.

Which channels does Hulu + Live TV have?

Hulu Live gives you access to more ESPN channels and the original Hulu streaming library

If you’re already a heavy Hulu user and love their original content, like The Handmaid’s Tale, look no further. Adding Hulu + Live TV to Hulu’s already solid original library gives it an edge over competitors like YouTube TV.

Keep in mind, though, Hulu Live comes with only 50 hours of DVR storage. You’ll likely want to upgrade, so you’ll need to add $10 to your monthly bill to get 200 DVR storage hours.

Check out the Hulu channel lineup in your area by entering your zip code.

But we’ll give you a heads up that won’t find your major sports networks here, like NBA TV and MLB Network, but you’ll get access to NFL Network.

Which channels does Sling TV have?

If you’re not picky about missing traditional cable, Sling TV’s affordable packages can save you dough on subscription TV

Sling TV may not have the biggest channel lineup or all of your favorite channels in one package, but you will save money.

But honestly, the channel lineups for Sling’s three packages aren’t too bad.

Sling Orange has your ESPN, Disney Channel, and Freeform, while Sling Blue has NFL Network, Fox News, and MSNBC.

But we don’t recommend Sling Orange + Sling Blue, because, for just $15 more, you can get YouTube TV. And YouTube TV has 15 more channels and an unlimited DVR storage space.

Sling TV gives you 50 hours of DVR storage, and you’ll have to tack on $5 to your subscription if you want 200 hours. Sigh.

Which channels does DIRECTV STREAM have?

DIRECTV STREAM will give you a traditional TV feel, but it’s the priciest option

DIRECTV STREAM has many popular channels, even in its most basic package— but it’s a little on the pricier side.

For example, the ENTERTAINMENT package (the cheapest option) is $70 per month and only has 65 channels. YouTube TV is $5 cheaper and has 20 more channels.

But it’s an excellent option if you want the traditional TV feel and lots of channels. The PREMIER package will give you 140 channels for you and the family to always find something to watch.

Also, it’s worth mentioning that DIRECTV STREAM includes some premium channels in its packages. You’ll get STARZ channels in the ULTIMATE package and STARZ, HBO, CINEMAX, and SHOWTIME channels when you upgrade to PREMIER.

With all the options, it can be hard to choose

If only one streaming TV service has your must-have channel, then your decision is already made for you. But we recommend fuboTV because it has a great variety of popular channels that everyone in the house will love.

HGTV is also available on FuboTv…I’d delete that entire section of your review.

Holy cow! Thanks for catching that. We fixed it.

    Yes Doug, that’s our recommendation!

The interface caters to sports more, which helps you find what you want to watch quicker.

      Thank you Trevor!!

  • itsSunYam

Might want to update this. fuboTV offers Food Network, LMN, Local NOW, PAC-12, they just got the CBS channels (some depends on your area), heard rumors they will be getting Showtime since it’s owned by CBS, with more channels coming.

  • Laurel Pearl-Gross

does direct offer on demand? To clarify can I view the most recent episodes of a particular show at anytime after the original airing?

  • http://dev-reviewsorg.pantheon.io/ Trevor Wheelwright

    Hey Gio,
FuboTV expanded its American Football offering recently with NFL Network and a few others. Check out your subscription to see if any new channels were added (NFL Network was added to Premier for free), or if you see new add-on packs available to you at an additional cost.

  • Brent Norway

No, but you get more discounts if you do

  • GK

So far DIRECTV NOW is looking god but I need to watch the Red Sox season without going through Comcast NESNgo is allegedly a stream option but don’t know what to choose re: streaming offer. Any suggestions?

  • Matt

There are a bunch of channels Fubo gets that say “no” on this list. Fake news. Food Network, Travel Channel, NFL, Red Zone, Local Now, Weather Channel, Unimas, Universal Kids (sprout doesn’t exist anymore), Olympic Channel ( Universal channel doesn’t exist anymore), all Showtime channels, all PAC 12 channels, etc. This “ list” is a sham.

  • Carlos Nunez

wait direct tv now has BEIN sports???? since when??

  • Chuck

You have LMN and Lifetime Movie Network listed separately and some carrying one but not the other – aren’t they the same?

    • Maria Millett

Oh thank you for catching that! We will delete one of those.

  • Rich Oberst

Wrong. TNT and USA are both available in Sling Blue

    • Maria Millett

Thanks for letting us know, Rich!

  • Wyre

Update for your chart: DirectTVNow does offer TCM … on its least expensive tier. There are not a lot of “72 hr rewind” choices for previously aired films, and you can’t log in to the TCM app with DTVN credentials ( which may be the case with all streaming service accounts), but it does offer Live Turner Classic movies. That was a big selling point for me.

    • Maria Millett

      Thanks for the update!!

  • Yovizna

DTN has now the ability of recording on the cloud. The article is accurate now. 3/2018

    • Maria Millett

      Thanks for the update!

  • Maria Millett

Hi Randall! We are always updating our pages, we will add this one to our queue!

  • Jack Bish

I just cancelled ps vue because they didn’t have a&e. I still don’t see it in the channel lineup on their website.

  • Jim

All of these are off. I’m looking at this and the sites of the streaming services at the same time and you have yeses where there should be no’s and no’s where there should be yeses.

  • Froide

Thanks for the comparisons. This chart needs to things, though: (1) distinctions among Sling Blue, Sling Orange, Sling Blue+Orange, and those configurations’ associated Extras, and (2) monthly updates to reflect these services’ rapidly changing lineups.

  • Mary

When was this list last updated? Do not see where changes were made based on the comments made.

  • Respected Citizen

DirecTV Now does have Aspire, CBS*, CBS Sports, My Network TV*, NHL Network, Ovation, Pop, Reelz, Sportsman, TCM, Universal Kids, Up, and 4 add-on packages: HBO, Cinemax, Starz and Showtime. ESPN Goal Line and SEC+ was available last season on the app with DTV Now credentials.

Fubo has NFL Network and RedZone, not DirecTV Now.

Spike became the Paramount Network, Centric became BET Her, and Universal became the Olympics Channel. Comcast Sports channels were all rebranded as NBC Sports channels.

NBC Universo is the same thing as Universo.

  • ABurro

When I was with SlingTV the cloud DVR was unreliable. It would “lose” my recordings (just disappear), or tell me the recording couldn’t be played. It was hit and miss. It didn’t matter from which OS I was accessing it. What good is a cloud DVR that you can’t depend upon? So far, Fubo seems to be working correctly.

This list if definitely out of date.

  • Dale Lehman

I don’t know if anyone will see this, but I need to vent my frustration about this entire industry. ALL of these options are fraught with deceptive and unethical practices. My latest attempt was to start a free trial of Fubotv – I bailed when Roku only offered the most expensive package when others were presumably available. You are never told the price until they think they have you hooked. I’ve tried SlingTV, DirectTV now and SliingTV again. Sling is mostly ok, but advertising itself as “a la carte” TV and only offering bundles is fraudulent. Apparently nobody knows or cares what the meaning of “a la carte” is. Skinnier bundles are not a la carte. A la carte means choose the channels you want. But the entire industry works on bait and switch – free or low cost offers, lack of transparent pricing, terms and conditions that NO HUMAN BEING ever reads or is capable of understanding. I understand how all of this is profitable – and it is us that permit this to happen. What I find hard to understand is how the people at these companies justify their behavior. It is unethical to take people’s money by deceiving them. And, to justify it because these services are better than the cable industry is a poor excuse – that bar is simply too low. I’ve even offered my cable provider to sign a 10 year contract at their currently inflated prices (my low cost initial offer expired a couple of years ago) and they are unwilling to do that. The entire industry thrives on our addiction to entertainment and our increasing stupidity and herd behavior which lines their pockets. I’m disgusted – can you tell? Does anyone else feel this way? Does anyone care any more?

    • Cynthia Marie Mackey

I feel your angst. I cut the cable about a year and a half ago and wish I would’ve done so sooner. I signed up for DirecTV Now at the 3 month promo rate of $30 per month, which was great! It then went up to the regular price of $35 per month, still great. A FEW months later and they announce a price increase to $40 per month, then a few more months ANOTHER increase to $50. I was ticked and complained to customer service. They cut me a little deal for a few more months. It is now called AT&T Now and low and behold, as of my next bill in November the price is increasing to $60! That’s double what I started within a mere year and half! I love the service for the most part, except the streaming keeps buffering and cutting out since it changed to AT&T for some reason, but I am furious at all these price increases! I’m researching the other services and finding they are mostly less expensive, but I am having difficulty finding one that has all the channels I want (which aren’t really that many). UGH. The greediness of these companies is so frustrating. At this rate, streaming will become as expensive as cable and defeat the purpose of cutting the cable.

  • Turtlehands .

Fubo gets AMC, ESPN, that list is not accurate.

  • Shelly Filgo

Are there any streaming services that allow you to fast forward thru the advertisements when you have recorded after the show aired?

  • Don Anderson

My experience with Directv Now, I found the service to be poor at best, especially at identifying my location to provide local stations and poor customer service. I switched to YoutubeTV and found the service to be much better and cheaper! I would highly recommend YoutubeTV for those who still want the cable tv type service.
