With Optimum, you get a 12-month price guarantee. For instance, if you sign up for the 500 Mbps Fiber Internet at $60 a month, it will stay $60 for the first year. Afterward, the price gradually goes up to $90. But Optimum has no contracts, so you don’t have to stick around after the price increase.

Optimum’s cable and fiber plan costs start off as low as $40 a month. Those low prices are guaranteed for the first 12 months and include unlimited data and free equipment.
The included equipment typically consists of a free Optimum Gateway (modem/router) plus a free Wi-Fi extender if needed. You can buy additional hardware from Optimum, but it may be pricey, depending on what you need.
Discounted Optimum plans
In New York City, Optimum offers Optimum Advantage plans. The Optimum Advantage plan is $14.99 a month for 50Mbps, and the Optimum Advantage+ plan is $25 a month for 100Mbps. Those prices include all equipment and installation fees.
To qualify for Optimum Advantage, potential customers must meet criteria, like participation in the National School Lunch Program or being 65+.
