All plans come with unlimited data, but priority data is capped at 100GB for Select plan and Lite plan customers and capped at 200GB for Elite and Fusion customers. Plans come with a 12-month or 24-month contract.

To get Hughesnet set up, you need a modem and an outdoor antenna system, either leased or bought outright. If you lease, there is a one-time lease setup fee of $99 and a monthly fee of $14.99. If you buy the equipment outright, it costs $299.

Hughesnet also offers a Bonus Zone of data usage from 2AM to 8AM, which includes 50GB of priority data speeds per month. This works even if you passed your data cap, and is best for scheduled downloads.

Is Hughesnet in your area?

Since Hughesnet is a satellite internet provider, its services are available in the contiguous United States, Puerto Rico, and Alaska. Check your zip code below to see local plans and prices.

Which Hughesnet internet speed is right for you?

Recommended speed

Hughesnet’s internet plans get 25Mbps to 100Mbps download speeds. This is enough speed for streaming and browsing the web. However, satellite internet plans get high latency, so online gaming and video conference calls can lag.

Since 50Mbps is enough for basic internet use, we recommend getting Hughesnet’s Elite or Fusion plans with 100Mbps download speeds and 200GB priority data to support several users using the internet at the same time.

Here’s how to get the best Hughesnet internet deals

Frequently asked questions about Hughesnet internet deals

Hughesnet internet plans cost from $39.99 to $94.99 monthly for the first 12 months or 24 months of service.

All Hughesnet internet plans come with unlimited data, but each plan comes with a priority data cap that is either 100 or 200GB. After you pass your data cap, you experience slower speeds.

Yes, Hughesnet is fast enough to stream shows on Netflix. Netflix recommends getting at least 3Mbps download speed for high-definition viewing quality. Using Netflix consumes your priority data, so it may be best to go with the Elite or Fusion plans if you want to stream more than an hour every day.
