You’re probably wondering how you can get your HBO fix without worrying about the pesky internet giving away spoilers of Raised by Wolves.

Well, if you’re fed up with the spoilers from the bloggers and tweeters … then allow us to help you out.

We’ll go over which providers offer HBO, how to access HBO deals, and how you can get HBO for free. (Yeah, you heard me. Free.)

Find the best TV Providers in your area.

Which providers allow you to add HBO as an add-on subscription?

Most providers offer HBO Max as an add-on, and most times, this also comes with the HBO channels. Besides getting an HBO subscription through the HBO app, an add-on subscription is the way to watch The Outsider.

So, the first step is finding the best service for you. Some services include the HBO channels in specific packages. Some will give you HBO Max for free for one year. But don't forget to look at the monthly price for the TV service itself.

Side note: If you’re unsure of what HBO Max is, check out our full review with all the deets.

Which provider offers HBO at the best price?

As a new customer, DIRECTV gives you HBO Max free for one year with CHOICE ($64.99/month) and above. And if you get the PREMIER package, you get the HBO channels included in your lineup!

But we don’t recommend the $129.99/month package unless you want more than 330 channels, which is one of the highest channel counts you’ll find in the TV industry. Check out our full review on DIRECTV for more info on the dreaded second-year price hikes.

AT&T TV, basically DIRECTV as a streaming service, gives you HBO Max for free for three months with whichever package you choose, whether it be the entry-level package or the most expensive package. If you want the HBO channels, you’ll also have to budget for the PREMIER package. But check out our full review on AT&T TV and the price-hikes this service comes with.

Xfinity, our number one cable TV provider, offers HBO Max at the lowest price in the TV industry. If you want to find out more details about channel lineups, fees, and contracts, check out our Xfinity TV Review.

As for the average-priced HBO package, these services offer your favorite premium channel:

  • YouTube TV gives you a free 7-day trial of HBO and HBO Max, and it’s our favorite live TV streaming service.
  • Hulu + Live TV is a close second to YouTube TV for the best live TV streaming service on the market.
  • AT&T TV NOW gives you a 30-day free trial of HBO Max. This streaming service also includes HBO Max in its MAX plan ($80.00/month), and it includes HBO and HBO Family channels in its PREMIER plan ($183.00/month).
  • Optimum’s Premier TV package ($124.99/mo.) includes HBO Max and all HBO channels.

Spectrum TV doesn’t offer HBO Max (what?), but you get HBO included in your channel lineup when you get TV® Silver ($69.99/month) or TV Gold ($89.99/month) packages.

The pricing isn't too bad, considering the other services don't include HBO channels unless you're paying for a package over $100. Check out our detailed Spectrum TV review to learn more about the packages and if it's available in your area.

Cox offers HBO Max at the highest dollar in the TV industry. You’ll have to get a TV + Internet bundle to get HBO Max included, as long you’re subscribed to this bundle.

The Cox bundles that include HBO Max range from $129.99–$179.99/month with 140+ to 250+ channels and up to 500–940 Mbps download speeds. Check out our Cox TV Review and our Cox Internet Review to find out if this is the service for you.

And lastly, DISH, Sling TV, and fuboTV don’t have HBO. So if you really need HBO (which you probably do, because why would you be reading this right now?), don’t bother with these three services.

Can I get HBO on Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu, or other on-demand services?

On-demand services like Amazon Prime, Netflix, or Hulu, won’t have HBO shows in their library, but you can get HBO Max with all of these on-demand services!

The pricing for HBO Max is the same price for all three streaming services, so you just have to decide which streaming service fits your watching needs.

Check out our list of best on-demand services to find the details and answers to your burning questions.l

If you have no desire to sign up for a service but want to watch a full season of an HBO show like The Sopranos or The Wire, the best option will be to buy the season on Amazon Prime.

But it’s also worth mentioning that you could get access to both of these shows on YouTube TV’s or Hulu + Live TV’s on-demand library. So if you’re considering a live TV streaming service … well, there ya go.

How can I watch HBO for free?

Guess what? There are two ways to get HBO Max for free for life. Now you’re interested, huh.

If you’re looking for a new cell phone provider, might we suggest AT&T? AT&T’s Unlimited Elite plan will not only give you unlimited talk, text, and data, but it will also give you, you guessed it, free HBO Max.

AT&T includes HBO Max with this plan, as long as you have this plan. So you can stream all you want! Well, until you hit 100 GB. AT&T warns your data speeds can slow down if you’ve reached 100 GB of data for the month if the network is busy.

But hey, everyone needs a cell phone plan, right? Why not get free HBO with it?

AT&T is also offering free HBO Max for life if you get the one gig internet from AT&T Fiber. But AT&T Fiber is only offered in 21 states, so make sure you live in a qualified area to get your Lovecraft Country fix.

What’s the cheapest way to get HBO Max?

Many providers have promotions and deals for HBO Max and other premium channels. These promotions and deals I’m talking about are easily translated to free. And most, only for a limited time.

Some services throw in premium channels for free. So why not take advantage?

  • DIRECTV: You get HBO Max for free for one year.
  • AT&T TV: You get HBO Max for free for three months.
  • Cox: You get HBO Max for free the entire time you’re signed up for a qualifying TV + Internet bundle.
  • Optimum: You get HBO Max included in the Premier package.

Recap: What’s the best way to get HBO?

There are so many ways to answer this question.

If you want HBO for free, get an AT&T’s Unlimited Elite mobile plan or AT&T Fiber internet (because you’ll likely need a mobile plan and internet in your home, anyways).

Or if you’re already considering DIRECTV, then that makes the choice easier because you’ll get HBO Max for free for a year! The same thing goes for AT&T TV. It’s an easy choice if you’ve already had an eye on it, so subscribe and also get HBO Max free for three months. And get HBO Max for free with select Cox or Optimum packages.

If you want a live TV streaming service, good news, HBO Max's price is the same across all of the services. So if we had to suggest one live TV streaming service to subscribe to, YouTube TV is our number one pick.

If you’re on a budget and don’t care for live TV channels, Hulu, the on-demand service, will be your best option.
