Xfinity bundles include cable TV and internet, unlimited nationwide home phone calls, and home security packages. You’ll have to add internet to get phone or home security bundles, but you can mix and match as you please beyond that.

With many bundle packages, you have the option for a 1-year, 2-year, or no-term agreement.

If you don’t think you’ll have Xfinity for more than a year, you might want the no-term contract, since that way you can avoid early termination fees. But you save more money over time (usually $10–20+ per month) if you select a contract option.

Xfinity double play bundles

Xfinity double play deals include phone and internet and or cable TV and internet bundles.

Xfinity cable and internet deals

Comcast Xfinity TV and internet packages have a consistent speed (in our area) of 150 Mbps download speeds, which is fast enough for most homes. The more channels you want, the more expensive the package will be.

Pros

  • Cheaper
  • Fast speeds
  • Good channel lineups

Cons

  • HD service and DVR fees vary
  • Contract options vary

What we like

If you buy Xfinity’s services separately, rather than bundling them together, you’ll be spending around an extra $15 per month—and that adds up. You’ll save money if you bundle, plus you’ll want to get Xfinity TV and internet together to make sure you’re using all the features.

Xfinity includes Netflix and integrates its library, which you can access with your X1 voice remote. That’s way better than switching apps to search for a title. You can also remotely access your DVR recordings and on-demand library with the Xfinity Stream app.

Comcast Xfinity TV and internet packages don’t skimp out on fast speeds or TV channel lineups. You’ll get popular channels you’ll actually watch like HBO, SHOWTIME, Food Network, Cartoon Network, sports networks to get the games you need—we could keep going, but you get the idea.

For all you parents out there, there’s enough kid channels like Sprout, Cartoon Network, and Disney Channel for them to learn the lingo and expand their imaginations. You’ll find out which shows you enjoy too.

What’s up with Xfinity Instant TV?
Xfinity’s Instant TV is like Netflix or Hulu, but it’s part of your Xfinity internet package. It’s offered as a 30-day free trial if you’re a new internet-only subscriber, or it’s included in your Xfinity cable and internet deals. Xfinity Wi-Fi and cable is a great way to stay in the loop around the clock.

With Xfinity internet, you can also access your on-demand library on the go. You can watch your shows on your phone or laptop, which makes life a little more enjoyable when you’re waiting in line or have a long commute.

What we don’t like

HD service and DVR sometimes mean an extra fee for you on some Xfinity double play deals. And the contracts also vary from plan to plan and location to location. Pricing and licensing can be complicated, but it’d be nice if plans included HD fees and DVR service.

Xfinity phone and internet deals

If you have a cell phone, you may not need to add home phone to your lineup. But Comcast Xfinity does also offer an internet and phone double play for those who watch streaming services only and don’t need cable TV service.

Pros

  • Save money by bundling
  • Fast speeds
  • Unlimited nationwide calling

Cons

  • Limited variety

What we like

Spend a lot of time on the phone with relatives and friends? Check out an Xfinity phone and internet bundle. It includes unlimited nationwide calling. Plus, for a small upgrade fee, you can get access to nearly half the world too.

Xfinity internet keeps up with the competition with download speeds from 60 Mbps. Even the lower speed should get you smooth Netflix streaming and quick web browsing.

You won’t necessarily get the cheapest internet with Xfinity, but it’s not the most expensive either.

What we don’t like

A couple more speed options would do Xfinity internet and phone bundles some good. While we think this option works for many people, we’d like to see something in the 100–200 Mbps range, as well as higher speeds for power users.

We appreciate having contract options with Xfinity phone and internet bundles, but you have to choose between either a no-term contract, which runs an extra $10 per month, or a 2-year contract, which comes with early termination fees.

We’d like to see a 1-year option here, but it’s not the biggest deal in the world. Most people will know whether or not they want to keep Xfinity short- or long-term.

Xfinity triple play bundles

Xfinity triple play deals make it cheaper to connect with family and friends nationwide.

Xfinity’s triple play packages all come with some level of DVR service, plus you get fast speeds and good channel lineups. It’s cheap to add unlimited nationwide calling, and you can integrate your phone and internet services with your TV service.

Pros

  • Fast speeds
  • Good channel lineups
  • Unlimited nationwide calling

Cons

  • Not exactly cheap

What we like

Getting an Xfinity triple play package covers most needs when it comes to staying connected through TV pop culture, social media, and phone calls across the nation (and across the world, with some plans).

Xfinity offers up some fast download speeds that will cover multiple people and devices in a home. You can even get up to 1,000 Mbps (1 gig speeds) in some cases.

The channel lineups are good and cover most people’s needs, and depending on the plan, you may get HD service and DVR service included as part of the package price. That’s not bad.

Sign up for paperless billing
Make sure to check the option for paperless billing with your Xfinity package. While it doesn’t save you extra money like it would with some providers, you’ll be a little greener and keep your bills in one convenient place—the Xfinity digital world! (*insert futuristic sounds here*)

What we don’t like

For some triple play packages, the price will go up after the first year. We like getting a good deal on introductory prices, but we don’t love when the price hikes up afterwards by $20 or more per month.

You do get the option for no-term contracts in some cases, so make sure you evaluate how long you’ll have Xfinity triple play service before committing to a contract.

Xfinity quad play bundles

Get it all for a little bit more.

Xfinity home security is relatively new, but it’s a cheap add-on to your bundle and covers the fundamentals. You can combine any of Xfinity services, but we’ll assume that home security is the reason for getting a quad play, since TV, internet, and phone service are all more “utility” oriented.

Pros

  • Cheap home security add-on
  • Basic equipment included
  • Controlled via X1 voice remote

Cons

  • Not exactly cheap in total
  • Extra fee for monitoring

What we like

Xfinity quad play bundles are for folks looking for a complete home solution through one company—which means you’d get only one bill for all of it. Most internet and TV providers don’t offer home security, and some TV companies don’t offer internet without bringing in another company, so this is a pretty unique deal.

It’s only $5 a month to add  home security to a triple play package. That’s not bad at all when most professional monitoring is in the neighborhood of $10–$50 per month—sometimes including equipment, sometimes not.

Home security equipment comes with a motion sensor, wireless keypad, door and window sensor, and touchscreen controller. It’s only $4.95 a month for Verified Response, and it comes with free standard installation, so the added costs end up being worth it.

What we don’t like

Quad plays, along with Xfinity bundle packages in general, come with various extra fees that depend on how many TVs you need service to and how you watch TV (HD fees and DVR service may cost extra).

Here are Xfinity’s additional fees, which may or may not be included in your Xfinity bundle deals:

  • Broadcast TV fee: up to $10/mo.
  • Regional Sports fee: up to $8.25/mo.
  • DVR Service: $9.95/mo.
  • Additional TVs: $9.95/mo. each
  • HD Technology fee: $10
  • Phone non-published listing: $2.50/mo.
  • International calling: Starts at $9.95/mo.
  • xFi Gateway modem and router: $13.00 (or included)
  • Taxes and fees (every provider has a similar charge)
  • Early termination fee (contracts only)

All-in-all, we’d expect that people who want it all are willing to pay for it. Getting these services individually is more expensive than grabbing Xfinity bundle deals. And adding the security equipment will keep your Xfinity home secure

Recap: Is bundling with Xfinity worth it?

We’ve used Xfinity for years. We get all the channels we want, we get fast internet speeds for a home filled with smart devices, and we get unlimited nationwide calling from our home phone. Although the cost isn’t cheap, even among other TV and internet providers, you do get everything you need from home services.

  • Xfinity TV and internet deals are on par with what other providers cost, but you only have to deal with one company, making life a little easier.
  • Xfinity phone and internet bundles aren’t pricey compared to internet alone. You get unlimited nationwide calling and even international calling on some plans.
  • Xfinity triple play deals can keep you looped in with friends and family everywhere, plus displaying phone call information on your TV is convenient.
  • Xfinity quad play bundles outdo most other providers in terms of cost and integration. We can’t think of any other cable company that has all four services in one bill.
