Samsung has set a date for the official unveiling of the Galaxy S25 Edge.
The slimmer addition to the manufacturer's latest roster of premium smartphones is due to get a proper reveal via livestream on 13 May 2025 at 9:00 AM AEST.
As is the style of major smartphone brands like Samsung, the company has put out a video 'invitation' teaser to set the tone and build anticipation ahead of the event.
In addition, Samsung also released a statement about the new device that confirmed it would feature the same 200MP main camera lens found on the back of the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
"This is more than a slim smartphone. Every curve, contour and component reflects a breakthrough in precise engineering to create a premium experience worthy of the S series name," the company said.
Although Samsung teased the Galaxy S25 Edge back in January 2025, there are still plenty of details unknown about the upcoming handset. Even if we know that the form-factor here is likely going to be thinner than the rest of this year's Galaxy lineup, we don't know by how much, nor do we know if that design will come with a compromise when it comes to performance.
There are still plenty of questions to be asked about the performance, battery life and camera kit that the Galaxy S25 Edge will bring to bear. There's also the biggest question of all: how much will it cost?
At this point, everything Samsung has said about the slim addition to its flagship lineup suggests that it's aimed at consumers who are willing to pay a premium price. It seems unlikely that the Galaxy S25 Edge will come in below the starting price of the standard Galaxy S25, but where it sits relative to the heaviest hitters in the lineup - the Galaxy S25 Ultra and foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold 6 - remains to be seen.
Fortunately, we won't have to wait long to find out the answer to that question. Expect more news on the Galaxy S25 Edge when it gets a proper reveal next week.
