Quick verdict: Is EZEE Mobile worth it?

This Telstra-powered MVNO may be new to the market, but it gives some of the older players a run for their money with generous 5G data allowances, data banking and gifting, international calls, and a decent reputation for customer service.

Is EZEE Mobile good value for money?

In terms of data-for-dollar value, of all 28 providers currently on the market, EZEE Mobile ranks second, just behind Exetel. That said, the cheapest entry point for an EZEE Mobile plan is $39, which is on the higher end of the spectrum. Still, its range of prepaid plans remain some of the best value options on the Telstra Wholesale network.

All three plans (which are available as an eSIM or physical SIM) have 5G access, with the cheaper two limited to a 150Mbps speed cap and the most expensive plan limited to 250Mbps.

Here's a breakdown of every EZEE Mobile plan available.

Although there are cheaper plans available, you'll struggle to find better bang for your buck on the Telstra network than EZEE Mobile.

However, if you're on a tighter budget, consider one of the following popular SIM-only and prepaid plans with at least 20GB of data that don’t cost more than $30 a month.

How is EZEE Mobile network coverage?

EZEE Mobile runs on the Telstra Wholesale network, which covers 1.4 million square kilometres compared to the full Telstra network's 2.15 million square kilometres. Despite that, it's still physically larger than Optus and Vodafone's networks.

The Telstra Wholesale network should cover the vast majority of metro, suburban, and regional areas. The only place you might struggle with reception is in particularly remote areas, where Telstra proper (or Boost, which also has access to the full Telstra network) will better suit you.

Features and perks

EZEE Mobile is a pretty no-frills mobile provider, not offering much more than your usual monthly data and unlimited calls and SMS. However, there are a couple of extra goodies. First, all plans offer data banking up to 1,000GB, and you can gift up to 50% of your monthly allowance to another EZEE Mobile service (in 1GB increments). Second, every plan includes unlimited international calls and SMS to the following 15 destinations:

  • Bangladesh
  • Canada
  • China
  • Greece
  • Hong Kong
  • India
  • Ireland
  • Japan
  • Korea (the Republic of) / South Korea
  • Malaysia
  • New Zealand
  • Singapore
  • Thailand
  • United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland
  • USA

International roaming

If you're planning on going overseas any time soon, you'll need to look into a travel eSIM to stay connected, as EZEE Mobile does not currently offer any international roaming inclusions or add-ons.

Customer support and satisfaction

If you're having an issue with your EZEE Mobile service, there are a few different avenues for support. In addition to app management and an online FAQ, you can email their Australian-based support team at support@ezeemobile.com.au or call 1300 393 366.

Telcos don't tend to have great customer satisfaction scores as a whole, but EZEE Mobile has a better-than-average 3.6-star Product Review rating. For comparison, Telstra, Optus and Vodafone all scored below 2.
