The next iPhone SE may be the first in the line to feature the Dynamic Island.

Earlier this week, a visual posted to X by infamous leaker Evan Blass provided a potential glimpse of what to expect from Apple's next thrifty handset as well as a refreshed iPad and iPad. While the Dynamic Island on the iPhone SE in the image seen below isn't super clear, Blass admitted in the post to color correcting the image to highlight its existence.

Aside from the new look, the next iPhone SE is rumored to run on Apple's A18 processor and feature an USB-C port, Face ID unlock support, a 48MP rear camera and a 6.1-inch OLED display.

Given Blass' track record for tech leaks, it feels like a safe bet that this redesign is the real deal. Assuming that's the case, it would mark a significant departure from the design seen in the 2022 incarnation of the device. That version of the iPhone SE featured a 4.7-inch Retina HD display closer to the one found on the iPhone 8 than anything Apple have released in the years since then.

Adopting the Dynamic Island first introduced by the iPhone 14 would mean skipping over an iPhone X-style notch entirely. That's far from impossible but does go against the traditional playbook for the series, which has involved pairing up Apple's powerful silicon with vintage designs that throwback to an older era of the iPhone.

While Apple hasn't yet confirmed or teased the fourth-generation iPhone SE in any meaningful capacity, an updated version of the budget-friendly iPhone is expected to be announced in mid-2025.
