If the subversive series' score of big wins at the 2022 Emmy Awards has you curious about a stay at The White Lotus, the good news is that now is a perfect time to jump on board with one of HBO's picturesque comedy about privilege.

The second season of the series is mere weeks away and the first is just six episodes, which makes it extremely binge-friendly. What's more, there are a few different places you'll be able to find and stream The White Lotus in Australia.

The first season of the show is available through major digital storefronts like Apple and Google TV, but those looking to jump into the second as soon as it becomes available will probably want to sign up with one of two of Australia's major streaming services.

In Australia, the first season of The White Lotus is available to stream via both Binge and Foxtel Now. The series can also be found by Foxtel subscribers via On Demand section of Foxtel's classic pay TV service.

If you're not already a subscriber to any of the above, the impending arrival of the second season of The White Lotus is a great excuse to sign up for the service on a 7-day free trial. Beyond the award-winning comedy, the service has tons of other great TV shows including the Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon, What We Do In The Shadows and Nathan Fielder's The Rehearsal.

Even if you take your time getting through the series or forget to cancel the trial, the most you'll end up paying for Binge is $18 per month. In comparison, the cost of a Foxtel Now membership that includes the Essentials channel pack (which you'll need if you want to watch The White Lotus) starts at $25 per month.

If you're looking to swap NBN providers, it's worth noting that all Telstra NBN plans currently include two free months of Binge. This offer is available to customers new to Binge. You'll pay $18 per month after your two free months are up, but can always cancel.

When does The White Lotus season 2 release in Australia?

The first episode of Season 2 of The White Lotus is slated to arrive on October 31, 2022. Each installment of the seven-episode season will drop weekly, with the final episode arriving on December 12, 2022.

Throughout and following this initial run, Aussies should expect to find the second season of The White Lotus through the same streaming services that currently carry the first.

Back in 2020, Foxtel signed a multi-year licensing agreement with WarnerMedia securing access to HBO and select HBO Max Original content for the foreseeable future. As long as that arrangement is in place, expect to find both the current and future seasons of The White Lotus on both Binge and Foxtel Now.

What is The White Lotus about?

Created and written by Mike White, The White Lotus is a dark comedy about the murky power dynamics of tourism. If you can imagine the messiness of reality TV spliced into a prestige drama with the satirical bite of Succession, then you've got the idea.

Originally envisioned as a six-part limited series, the first season of The White Lotus takes place at a Hawaiian resort of the same name. Told over the course of a week, the plot tracks the hijinks, horniness and thorniness between the various privileged guests staying at the hotel and the poor staff who have to put up with them.

As mentioned above, The White Lotus was previously intended to be a 0ne-off miniseries. However, in the wake of the series' popular and critical acclaim, HBO is looking to expand the series into an anthology akin to something like True Detective or American Horror Story.

The upcoming second season of The White Lotus is set to move the action to Europe and will take place at a Sicilian version of the resort featured in the previous one. Aside from Jennifer Coolidge, the guest list for the follow-up is almost entirely different with Aubrey Plaza, Michael Imperioli and Sabrina Impacciatore among the highlights.

Binge is Foxtel's second streaming service. Rather than adopt the cable-style channel packs model seen with Foxtel Now, Binge has a more Netflix-inspired subscription system. You pay a monthly fee, you get access to everything in the Binge library plus the features associated with your membership tier.
