OPPO is sweetening the deal for those who pick up its new Reno13 Pro by throwing in a free smartwatch.
Available in Australia from this week, the new OPPO Watch X2 is built around a familiar form-factor that combines a 1.5-inch AMOLED screen with a titanium alloy bezel and up to 2200 nits of brightness. At a glance, it's a more glossy take on the formula that sits somewhere between the Google Pixel Watch and the Samsung's Galaxy Watch.
Despite those similarities, the OPPO Watch X2 differentiates itself through the inclusion of an Apple Watch-style dial on the top right corner. This acts as a shortcut to bring up a snapshot of your health based on 60 seconds of metrics at the press of a button. This doesn't exactly sound like a game-changing innovation but in a world where most Apple Watch alternatives opt for little more than feature parity it's as close to a unique selling point as you're likely to find.
The OPPO Watch X2 comes in two colors: Lava Black and Summit Blue. As with its predecessor and rivals, the wearable comes powered by Google's Wear OS and the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset.
In terms of tracking, the OPPO Watch X2 supports heart-rate, GPS, sleep and ECG. When it comes to workouts, the OPPO Watch X2 supports up eleven professional sports and over a hundred other different activities.
The OPPO Watch X2 is just as loaded up when it comes to durability. It's got an IP68 rating against splash and dust damage and 5ATM water resistance. Courtesy of a 648mAh battery, the wearable is also said to be good for sixteen days of usage on a single charge if you enable the power-saving setting. It also plays nice with OPPO's VOOC fast charger tech, allowing you get 24 hours of usage from just ten minutes of charging.
The one big omission here is eSIM. That's not uncommon for when it comes to smartwatches nowadays but it is a notable difference between the OPPO Watch X2 and its most high-profile competition that those considering shelling out for the smartwatch may want to keep in mind.
