OPPO usually holds back its most exciting tech for flagships like the Find X8 Pro but its new Reno13 roster promises to bring with it bigger batteries, better water resistance and more premium than you'd usually find in a mid-range handset.

Given the imminent arrival of the new iPhone 16E, it's nice to see Android brands like OPPO rising to meet the competition. The first cab off the rank here is the OPPO Reno13 F. Priced at a competitive $599, it features 6.67-inch LCD screen clocked at 120Hz, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, a 5800mAh battery.

On the inside, the OPPO Reno13 F is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor. Then, on the outside, the humble handset is rocking a triple lens setup that's built around a 50MP main lens, an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro lens.

The OPPO Reno13 and Reno13 Pro firm up this foundation with a significantly more premium design. The two devices feature a sculpted glass back, a "aerospace-grade" aluminum frame and a 1.5K OLED screen clocked at 120Hz. Other shared features here include support for 80W fast-charging and an IP59 rating against dust and splash damage.

The Reno13 weighs in a 6.59-inches while the Reno13 Pro is slightly larger at 6.83-inches. Under the hood, both the Reno13 and Reno13 Pro feature 12GB of RAM and a MediaTek Dimensity 8350. The Reno13 comes with 256GB of storage and a 5600mAh battery. The Reno13 Pro comes with double that and a larger 5800mAh battery to boot.

Another area where the OPPO Reno13 Pro ups the ante is the rear camera setup. The more expensive of the two handsets features a 50MP main lens, a 50MP telephoto lens and an 8MP ultrawide lens. By comparison, the standard Reno13 is kitted out with a 50MP main lens, an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP monochrome lens.

The Reno13 and Reno13 both come with a new underwater photography setting plus a handful of generative AI features aimed at photographers. The list here includes the ability to transform stills into short video clips, the option to enhance distant scenery and reduce blur and the ability to instantly remove reflections.

In Australia, the new OPPO Reno13 starts at $899 while the Reno13 Pro starts at $1299. All three devices will be available to buy outright via OPPO direct and select retail partners from 27 March 2025.
