Quick verdict

Formerly-known as Catch Connect, OnePass Mobile is a thrifty provider well worth considering if you're after a prepaid mobile plan on the Optus network. There aren't many perks like 5G and it's a little too early to weigh in on overall customer satisfaction but if dollars-to-data is the metric you use to choose your mobile provider you'll like the way the numbers add up.

OnePass Mobile mobile value for money

A solid choice for prepaid over the short and long-term

Prepaid

All of OnePass Mobile's SIM only mobile plans are prepaid and powered by the Optus 4G network. At the time of writing, there are a total of four 28-day plans on offer.

The cheapest of these is priced at $20 per 28-days and comes with unlimited local talk and text plus 15GB of monthly data.

The next plan up the ladder is priced at $25 with 28-day expiry. Like its siblings, it comes with unlimited local calls and text plus 4G connectivity powered by the Optus 4G network. It's only a little bit more expensive than the cheapest option on the OnePass Mobile roster but comes with double the data allowance at 30GB.

If that's still not enough for you, the $30 OnePass Mobile plan comes with 45GB per month. Otherwise, it's the same setup as its siblings. You get unlimited local calls and texts and 4G connectivity powered by the Optus network.

Last but not least, there's the $40 per month OnePass Mobile plan. This one comes with 60GB of data per month, plus unlimited local talk and text with Optus 4G coverage.

For a sense of how these plans compare to other prepaid plans with 28-day expiry in our database, check out the widget below for a round-up of the cheapest alternatives to OnePass Mobile.

Long expiry plans

Long expiry plans have always been a big focus for Catch Connect and the same is true with OnePass Mobile. All told, the thrifty provider has four plans in total to offer on this front.

Three of these come with 365-day expiry. The last - and cheapest - option comes with 90 day expiry instead. It's priced at $40 per month and includes 20GB of data. As with the provider's other prepaid plans, these 90-day and 365-day prepaid mobile plans come with unlimited talk and text plus coverage powered by the Optus 4G network.

The first cab off the rank when it comes to 365-day plans here is priced at $200. It includes 200GB of data. The next option up boosts that data allowance to 280GB but costs you an extra $40 per 365-days. Last but not least, the most expensive long expiry plan sold by OnePass Mobile costs $300 and comes with 360GB of data.

For a sense of how these compare to other long expiry plans, check out the widget below for a snapshot of the cheapest 365-day plans available in our database below.

OnePass Mobile mobile coverage

See if OnePass Mobile has you covered for coverage using the map below.

OnePass Mobile is an Optus MVNO. Most telcos in Australia are MVNOs outside of the three network holders: Telstra, Optus and Vodafone. As an Optus MVNO, OnePass Mobile is one of more than a dozen telcos that use the network, and one of a handful that offer prepaid plans on the Optus network.

However, OnePass Mobile operates exclusively on the Optus 4G network. At the time of writing, OnePass Mobile does not include access to the Optus 5G network with any of its 28-day or long-term prepaid mobile plans.

OnePass Mobile features and perks

You get what you pay for

OnePass Mobile really doesn’t have a lot going on in the way of perks. Don’t look to this provider if you’re interested in international roaming, plans with handsets or opportunities to save money by bundling. The closest thing it has it the option to pay an extra $5 per month to add 100 international minutes to 32 selected destinations.

If international calls is something you can't live without, you might want to check out the widget below for a snapshot of the most popular mobile plans with international calls in our database.

If you're planning on traveling abroad, OnePass Mobile does sell a Pay-As-You-Go add-on that includes $25 Credit to spend on roaming within selected countries and networks.

The specific rates that apply when it comes to using that credit will vary from destination to destination. However, none are as generous as what you'll get from a provider with a more concrete roaming offering. As an example, staying connected in New Zealand would cost you $0.50 per MB or $500 per GB. More information about OnePass Mobile's roaming rates can be found on the provider's website.

The final piece of the puzzle is the option of buying additional data. If you exhaust your usual allowance for any of the OnePass Mobile plans seen above, you can top-up your monthly allocation of gigabytes at a price. There are two options to choose from. Either you get $10 for 1GB or pay $15 for 2GB. In either case, that data comes with 30-day expiry and does not roll over.

OnePass Mobile customer support

Not much more than your average MVNO

If you’re a OnePass Mobile customer, your options are limited when it comes to support pathways.

OnePass Mobile doesn’t have a customer forum, stores, and nor should you look to social media for help. The telco does, however, offer a usage-monitoring app, self-serve online assistance and a chat service.

You can also call OnePass Mobile on 1300 222 825 weeks days from 9:00am to 8:00pm or weekends and public holidays from 10:00am to 5:00pm (all times are AEST).

OnePass Mobile FAQs

OnePass is owned by Wesfarmers, the same company responsible for popular Australian retailers like Kmart, Target, and Bunnings Warehouse. OnePass Mobile is operated by amaysim, which is owned by Optus.
