Right now there is a $400 discount on the iPhone 13
Vodafone just dropped a $400 discount on the iPhone 13, so you can now pick one up for under $1000 if you’re in the market for a new phone.
Here is how the new pricing compares across storage capacity:
All Australian mobile phone plans work in the same way, you’ll pay the RRP of the phone in regular monthly repayments and your SIM plan fees on top of that. Vodafone offers 12-month, 24-month, and 36-month options - the longer the plan, the less you’ll need to pay month-to-month but that also means you’ll be committed to the provider for longer.
On a 24-month plan your monthly repayments on a 128GB model will be $39.53 + plan fees. While on a 36-month plan it will be $26.35 + plan fees. For comparison, if you were to go with Telstra or Optus you’d be paying around $56 per month on a 24-month plan, or $37 across 36-months. Plus the additional SIM fees from those providers.
Here are how they compare to Telstra and Optus' options:
Alternatively, if you’re not keen on committing to Vodafone, Optus is giving away an Apple Watch Series 7 with any new iPhone 13 series plan. While the watch itself is free, you will need to commit to a Watch Promo Plan for the duration of your plan, which will cost you 10 per month. Ostensibly the deal brings the price of the Apple Watch Series 7 41mm down from $749, to $240 over the course of a 24-month plan.
If you want to upgrade to the 45mm version instead, you’ll need to pay $50 extra over the course of the plan.
While all Optus plans are contract-free - so you can pay out your phone and jet at any time - if you terminate your plan before your contract ends you’ll need to pay out the pro-rated cost of the Apple Watch. On a 24-month plan it comes to $31 per remaining month, and on a 36-month plan it is around $21.
