Samsung released its new S-series phones today, and while the S25 is exciting for those who observe we really have to talk about the Crocs phone case.
As part of the launch Samsung has announced a silicon case in the style of a Croc, complete with speed strap and space for Jibbitz. Crocs are known for their comfort, but also their customisation. While phone customisation isn't as popular these days there is one example that stands out. The Nothing CMF Phone 1.
The CMF Phone 1 has an interchangeable design which allows you to snap difference accessories to the body of the phone using a circular hole in the case. Sound familiar yet? Nothing has a card case, lanyard, and a stand available, and of course third party accessories are also out there, but there is only one space where these can be attached.
Samsung's new case has a whopping 15 potential Jibbitz spots. Thats enough to hold every one of Nothing's accessories with space to spare. Right now these shoe charms function very much as a personality piece. They're tiny bits of pop culture, letters, and pictures that people use to adorn their feet, but its a growing market. Useful accessories like mini torches have made their way onto Crocs around the world, its only a matter of time before 3D printer Etsy starts developing phone accessories to snap into the case.
For now the official Crocs case is only available for the Galaxy S25 range, and regularly retails for $119. If purchased during pre-orders however it goes down to $83.30. Compared to the CMF Phone 1 which goes for $399 AUD at the low end that might sound like a bargain, but you do still need to factor in the S25 phone price on top of it.
Regardless its interesting to see such a kitschy take on phone accessories. I for one look forward to seeing what cursed creations users come up with.
