Where to watch every Dexter season and reboot in Australia

Forensic technician and philanthropic serial killer Dexter Morgan now has four iterations of the tv show Dexter, and we can tell you where to watch them.

If you've never seen a single episode you should probably start from the beginning to get a solid understanding of the kind of drama we're working with here. The TLDR (or TLDW) is that Dexter has the drive to kill, and he channels that into killing perpetrators of terrible crimes instead. How does he find them? Well he works for the police of course, as a forensic technician.

Dexter is part thriller, part drama, and as of 2025 has been around for 19 years. It had a resurgence in 2021 with New Blood, which sparked two more spin offs. If you're looking for something to sink your knife (or teeth) in to then you've got plenty to watch here.

The original Dexter tv show hit screens in 2006 and ran for eight, 12 episode seasons. While this writer originally watched it on week to week on Foxtel, these days you can catch every episode streaming on Prime Video or Paramount+.

Eight years after the original Dexter tv show wrapped, the miniseries New Blood came straight to Paramount+. The 10 episode continuation follows Dexter in his new life in New York where he has adopted a new identity but the same bit. This time he is dating the chief of police though, and successfully keeping his murderous tendencies at bay. For now at least.

The series is still showing on Paramount+ in Australia.

Dexter: Original Sin is yet another addition to the saga, this time following on from New Blood. The majority of the show is shot as flashbacks as Dexter Morgan lays on his deathbed. We are taken back, 15 years before the original series to see Dexter's youth and how he became the vigilante murderer murderer that we all know and love.

Once again you can catch Dexter: Original Sin on Paramount+ or Amazon Prime Video in Australia, with new episodes dropping weekly.

The next (and maybe last) leg of this saga is Dexter Resurrection which picks up where New Blood left off. This is set to release in mid 2025 and yeah, it will probably be on Paramount+ again.

There are some theories about what is next for Mr Morgan but nothing has been credibly confirmed as of yet. What we do know is that Michael C Hall will be joined by Uma Thurman and Peter Dinklage.
