It's better known for bringing Brangelina into existence more than actually being a decent movie, but nevertheless, we're getting a reboot of Mr. and Mrs. Smith in the form of a new Amazon series, and it sounds positively wild.

Set to debut next year on Prime Video, the series will star Fleabag's Phoebe Waller-Bridge and jack-of-all-trades Donald Glover (a.k.a. Childish Gambino) as the titular duo. The pair, who will also serve as executive producers, previously collaborated on Glover's acclaimed series Atlanta (streaming on Bingeand made the exciting announcement in a very on-brand way via an Instagram story.

To refresh your memory, the O.G. 2005 Mr. and Mrs. Smith starred Brad Pitt and Angelina Pitt as a bored married couple who both, unbeknownst to one another, have secret side-hustles as hitmen. While it was certainly a box-office hit (raking in just under half a million US dollars), it wasn't exactly a critical success, scoring an average 60 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes.

The reboot is an interesting move for Amazon, but one thing's for sure - it'll certainly be interesting to see if Waller-Bridge and Glover can work their Midas magic on the tale. In the meantime, check out our favourite movies and TV shows currently streaming on Prime Video.
