Google's latest Pixel phone has only just landed in Australia, but you can already save some money on the Pixel 9a if you know where to look.
At the time of writing, all three of Australia's major mobile carriers are offering the device on a plan. What's more, all three options come with a $250 discount on the usual RRP of the Pixel 9a.
If you had your eye on the cheaper 128GB model, that brings the cost down from $849 to $599. Meanwhile, those planning to pay the premium for double the storage are looking at $749 instead of the usual $999. Naturally, and as you can see from the widget below, that means that the cheapest option on the table is Vodafone.
Usually you'd pay $23.58 per month for the 128GB Pixel 9a on a 36-month plan through Vodafone. With this deal, you're now looking at just $16.63 per month. Stick with Vodafone for the full term and those monthly savings will add up to $250. If you leave early, you'll forfeit the discount and have to pay off whatever sum remains.
On top of the discount on the device, Vodafone are also knocking $10 off the monthly cost of whatever plan you pair the Pixel 9a up with for the duration of the repayment term. Once you've paid off the phone, your monthly bill will up by $10. Fortunately, at that point, there's nothing stopping you from shopping around for a better deal.
If you fancy a few more gigabytes to work with, the 256GB version of the Pixel 9a might be the better play. You'll end up paying slightly more overall, but you've got the same selection of plans to choose from and the month-to-month cost is only a few dollars higher. See the difference for yourself by taking a look at the widget below.
Unlike Telstra and Optus, Vodafone hasn't put a deadline on when it will withdraw this offer.
Although all three providers will let you buy the Pixel 9a on a plan, Telstra is the only one that lets you save on the new device through a 12-month repayment term. That offer expires 19 May 2025. Meanwhile, Optus' discount on the Pixel 9a will stay around until 25 May 2025.
