Circles.Life is a SIM-only provider, meaning that you’ll need to have a phone to pop the SIM card into. Powered by the Optus 3G and 4G network, the telco gives the same coverage as Optus Proper but at a significantly cheaper monthly rate. Here are some other Optus MVNO plans for comparison.

Each of the Circles.Life plans come with unlimited talk and text within Australia, VoLTE and WiFi Calling, and a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. If you’re unhappy with the service within your first month then the telco will refund your initial plan fees. 

The price freeze comes in the wake of other Australian telcos raising their prices. So far this financial year, Telstra and Optus both raised their fees for existing customers on SIM-only plans. Telstra has also noted that customers can expect price rises in line with CPI every new financial year moving forward. This is especially problematic for customers paying off a mobile device using a mobile repayment plan with these providers.

Every Australian mobile phone plan is now split into two terms: a SIM-only plan which is generally contract-free and can be changed at any time by either the customer or by the telco, and a mobile phone repayment plan where the customer pays the RRP of a device off across equal monthly repayments. A SIM plan is required in order to maintain a device plan.

As each of these providers have contract-free SIM plans, this portion of the plan can be altered and customers have little choice but to deal with it if they’re still locked into a mobile phone repayment plan too. The only way out is to pay off the remaining cost of the phone and find a new provider, but if you can afford to do that then you’re probably not too fussed about a $3 price increase. 

Although Circles.Life plans are also contract-free, new customers and existing customers can lock in these prices for 18-months by selecting from an eligible plans.
