1 min readAt CES Dreame previewed a new robot vacuum concept with little legs to traverse high thresholds, and now the little guy can be yours. Pre-orders are now open for the X50 Ultra, with the first lot expected to dispatch on April 7th.
According to Dreame the new ProLeap System can get over double layer thresholds up to 6cm under ideal spacing conditions, but more realistically it can hope over steps up to 4cm tall. This is on par with Roborock's Qrevo Curv, but like the Curv there are probably only a few use cases for this in the average home. Regardless, its pretty fun. Who doesn't want a robovac with itty bitty little legs!?
Apart from its stompers, the X50 Ultra also has the highest suction in the industry at the moment, sporting 20,000Pa. It comes with a detangling Duo roller brushes, an extendable mop for getting in to edges, and even detatchable mops for less cross-contamination while cleaning carpetted floors.
On top of this it has VersaLift Navigation which ultimately means its periscope can retract back into the body of the device. The thinner design means it can get underneath lower furniture for a more comprehensive clean.
