The Fromaggio smart cheese maker is ostensibly a Thermomix for cheese. Rather than blending your sauces, or kneading your bread, this smart cheese maker is design to curdle, slice, and stretch based on the recipe sent from the app. Within the app there are hundreds of recipes from cheesemongers, and dairy enthusiasts. You just need to pick one, dump in the ingredients, and the Fromaggio will do its thing.

While trade show booths tend to be flashy and attention-grabbing, I had to respect the bare boned set up here at IFA. One table, one machine, a sign, and a few types of cheese made throughout the day. I spooned herbed ricotta into my mouth while the rep told me about their quest for an Australian distributor.

Fromaggio has apparently already sold a few units down under, and they’ve got ‘A Guy’ looking for more opportunities. He didn’t see this as a big-box store kind of product, but I disagree. This feels like the exact kind of Christmas gift David Jones or Myer would talk up. A fun connected gadget for the curd nerd in your life.

Although the fresh style cheeses like mozzarella, cream cheese, and ricotta are the most popular, the Fromaggio is capable of making any kind if you’re patient enough.

Right now the Fromaggio retails for $785USD for the copper version, and apparently $786AUD, which is a welcome exchange rate. And yes, I did ask if they had any plans to make a smart wine maker to go along with it, but alas no.

Disclosure: Reviews.org Australia attended IFA 2024 with the support of ECOVACS, and Roborock.
