Vodafone is currently offering selected customers the chance at a year of free internet, but there's more than a few catches involved.
The most important one is that your home needs to be connected to the Vision network. This private infrastructure is the broadband backbone that powers Vodafone, TPG and iiNet's FTTB internet plans. It's currently available in over 410,000 homes but even so it's nowhere as ubiquitous as the NBN is.
Running as part of the provider's broader bucket of EOFY deals, this promotion is set to run through to 31 July 2025 and available across all of Vodafone's Vision-powered internet plans. At the time of writing, there are three internet plans to choose from here.
The first of these is usually priced at $75 per month and offers download speeds of up to 91Mbps. For a sense of how this compares to the cheapest NBN plans that offer a comparable speed and price, check out the widget below.
The second offers faster 220Mbps download speeds for $80 per month. For a sense of how this compares to the fastest NBN plans available for the same monthly price, check out the widget below.
Meanwhile, the most expensive Vodafone Vision Home Internet plan comes in at $90 per month but offers download speeds of up to 500Mbps. For a sense of how this compares to an NBN plan around the same price with similar speeds, check out the widget below.
Of course, being located at a property connected to the Vision network is only the first caveat you'll want to keep in mind if the offer of a year without internet bills has your attention.
The other big one is that you have to be a Vodafone Mobile customer to take advantage of the promotion. Fortunately, it's a great time to switch as the provider is currently running a slew of EOFY promotions.

If you're not keen to switch up your mobile plan, you can still save though. The provider is currently offering all three of its Vision Home Internet plans at discount for the first twelve months as its standard sign-up offer. You're only saving half the usual monthly price rather than the whole amount, but that's still a decent chunk of change saved over the course of a year.
In any case, the last detail to keep in mind is that you can't sign up for these particular internet plans online. The only way to take advantage of this offer is either by doing so over the phone (via 1300 801 122) or in-person at a Vodafone store.
Alternatively, iiNet is offering a similar set of Vision-powered internet plans with the first six months available for free to new customers. You can find these plans in the widget below.
