Fubo TV Review (2026): Is It Worth It for Sports Fans?

Fubo offers streaming plans from $14.99, though there are promotional discounts that are offered to new customers. Fubo Pro and Elite plans give you access to most of the major sports and leagues.

For nearly less than the cost of premier services YouTube TV and Hulu + Live TV, the Pro plan gets you everything from pro football and basketball games to regional and local matchups.

Of course, you also get plenty of other news and entertainment channels that come standard on live streaming TV. And with no contractual requirements, you can sign up and cancel Fubo with the same ease as Netflix.

Fubo includes unlimited Cloud DVR and a handful of add-ons, including options to sign up for NFL RedZone and channels covering the NBA and Major League Baseball.

I liked the Fubo experience more than any other thing about this service. If someone has ever made fun of you at a bar for not knowing anything about football, you know how intimidating sports can be. However, as I watched Fubo on my LG TV, I found it easy to jump right in and browse around. Thanks to Fubo’s uniquely-designed app interface, it operates more like an on-demand service than a traditional TV setup.

Rather than emphasizing channels or networks, Fubo’s interface highlights specific sports games, news broadcasts, TV shows, and movies. Clicking through the app as I was working on this Fubo review reminds me of being on Netflix or HBO Max—I don’t need to worry about figuring out the specific channel that something is broadcast on. Instead, I can just click through the channel guide or randomly select something that looks interesting on the home screen.

Fubo has a standard channel guide, like other live TV services, but it has a very effective search function that lets me pull up specific shows or movies. There’s a 15-second rewind and fast-forward for live broadcasts, and recorded programming in your cloud DVR gets saved in a section labeled My Stuff for nine months before being deleted. I recorded a Daily Show episode and watched it later with no issues.

Load times to pull up games tended to be slow on my TV, even though I have a GFiber connection with speeds that regularly test at upwards of 200Mbps. But I never had any issues with live broadcasts. Though many of Fubo’s streams are limited to a disappointing 720p resolution, I was definitely watching in 1080p or 4K resolution when I pulled up a live broadcast of a college basketball game between the Syracuse Orange and the North Carolina Tar Heels.

The video was smooth, with no grainy images or buffering during a game highlight when the Tar Heels’ Seth Trimble ducked and dodged before swooping in for a layup. Broadcasts were just as reliable on Fubo’s iPhone app, which offers the same functionality as the full-sized TV app.

Fubo TV offers a comprehensive list of sports channels as its main selling point, letting you follow local, national, and international games and leagues. The Pro and Elite plans both come with ABC, CBS, and FOX, along with local NBA, NHL, and MLB games.

Of course, Fubo TV also includes a variety of entertainment and news channels, but that is far from Fubo’s strong suit. Viewers get access to local ABC, CBS, and FOX channels (depending on region), but it doesn’t have CNN or MS NOW (formerly MSNBC). During my firsthand testing for this Fubo review, I found that the app features Fox News and Newsmax, alongside CBS.

Fubo offers plenty of sitcoms and movies via FX, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, and Hallmark Channel. But Fubo does not offer content from Warner Bros. Discovery, or A&E—but you’re not going to miss out on the biggest reality TV shows on Bravo, which is included on English-language TV Plans.
