The Galaxy S25 Edge wasn't the only shiny new thing that Samsung teased at its latest Unpacked showcase, with the company providing a fresh look at an XR headset that looks a lot like Apple's Vision Pro.

Developed in collaboration with Google, the new XR headset is currently going by the name Project Moohan. It was first teased by Samsung back in late 2024 and while this week's incarnation of Unpacked didn't really come with any new details, the fact that it got a mention at all may mean further details about the headset are coming sooner rather than later.

A significant step up from the Gear VR headsets that Samsung developed in collaboration with Oculus way back when, Project Moohan promises to let you seamlessly juggle virtual experiences and the real world in the same way as Apple's Vision Pro does but with the benefit of additional functionality enabled by Google's Gemini AI.

Again, we've got nothing in the way of specs or a timeline for when Project Moohan might make it to market. All the same, it's interesting to see Samsung gear up to give the headset category another stab even as Apple is cutting back on its ambitions for its own headset.
