Google is still playing coy about when its smaller pro-grade smartphone will hit shelves, but we've got a pretty good idea.

As originally reported by our buds over at WhistleOut, a listing on the JB Hi-Fi website suggests that the handset will launch in Australia on 24 October 2024.

Although the Google Pixel 9 Pro launched alongside its siblings overseas, it was missing in action when the the Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 landed locally back in August. The main difference between it and its big brother is size, but that's not the only detail that matters.

The Pixel 9 Pro features the same form factor as the standard Pixel 9, paired with the higher specs of the Pixel 9 Pro XL. Compared to the standard model, the Pixel 9 Pro offers a brighter screen, a more powerful rear camera, a few additional GB of RAM and a superior selfie camera. You also get a full seven years of security and software updates, though you are paying for it.

In Australia, the Pixel 9 Pro starts at $1,699 and goes on-sale on 24 October 2024.
