Even if you’re paying off a Samsung Galaxy S25 mobile phone as part of a deal, that $1,399 minimum investment looms large relative to the fragility of the average smartphone. After all, the screen and body are the parts you interact most with on a mobile phone, but no matter how tough they are, they’re still prone to bumps, scratches and cracks.

Cue the entry of Samsung Galaxy S25 cases. Right on the launch of Samsung’s new flagship smartphone range, we’ve scoured the ’net for the best cases to help protect that investment. While our categories mainly focus on cheap, S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra options, we’ve also factored in popular brands and different case types. Scroll on for our best launch case picks for the Samsung Galaxy S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra.

Oaktree Shockproof Waterproof Rugged Case

Best overall Samsung Galaxy S25 case

Oaktree Shockproof Waterproof Rugged Case
From$99.50
pro Full phone protection
pro Wireless charging compatible
pro Waterproof (and the other ‘-proofs’)

Available for: Samsung Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, S25 Ultra

Pricing and availability only accurate as of last page update.

The common knowledge when purchasing a shiny new smartphone is that full-fledged protection comes from a combination of case and screen protector. Well, the Oaktree case wraps both of those into one. Insert your Samsung Galaxy S25, S25 Plus or S25 Ultra inside the corresponding Oaktree Rugged Case for all-round protection, including an IP68 waterproof rating (which can’t hurt atop the identical rating for the S25 range).

The enclosed design also translates to other ‘-proofs’, too: dust, snow and shock. Users can drop the case-wrapped S25 from just up to around 3.6 metres and still expect it to protect the S25 within. Despite the all-encompassing protection, this Oaktree case also allows for wireless charging through the case.

Full disclosure: to get the most out of the Quad Lock cases, you’re obliged to spend extra on a range of accessories like wallets, charging heads and phone rings. But you don’t need those to appreciate the base functionality of this case. And for a starting price under $50, the price is most definitely right. That price includes MagSafe compatibility, too.

Quad Lock S25 cases also include an edge-to-edge cover with impact resistance and a protective lining. Thankfully, that protection doesn’t come at the cost of bulk, though, with a slim design that’s soft to touch. When they’re back in stock, you can save a further $10 by opting for the MagSafe-less version.

That “6.0” in the Mous Limitless 6.0 case name isn’t just there for show. In fact, the sixth generation of the Limitless case has some key improvements over its predecessor, including a thinner and more streamlined design. Impressively, Mous claims that none of those improvements come at the cost of shock protection.

Unlike other category winners on this page, the Limitless 6.0 has a handful of materials to choose from, and even more if you’re shopping for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. Cosmetics aside, the case protection also has an inbuilt magnet for compatibility with MagSafe accessories. For extra sturdiness, consider adding in a left- or right-mountable wrist strap for a few bucks more.

If, like me, you’ve ever had Samsung Pay, Google Pay or Apple Pay mysteriously stop working while you’re out and about, you’ll respect the peace-of-mind importance of carrying around a wallet. Just in case. But there’s no need to lug around a separate cash-and-card holder when there are wallet phone cases like this one from Tough On.

The rear cameras are unblocked, but the rest of the rear and front of your S25 are protected by a wrap-around leather cover with a magnetic latch to keep it shut while not in use. Pop open the latch and the phone can be placed flat in landscape mode for easy viewing. In terms of the wallet practicalities, there are dedicated slots for a few cards atop a cash pocket.

Not just the domain of Wii Remotes or VR controllers, phone cases with an optional strap are popular picks today. And that’s exactly what you get with the Urban Armor Gear Pathfinder Clear. Shipment may be a bit longer than Aussie retailers, but that shipping costs nothing with this S25 case, and there are some decent perks worth considering.

The Pathfinder case has a protective screen surrounding and it sports drop protection beyond five metres. The inbuilt magnet module adds MagSafe compatibility and, in a nice touch, that module glows in the dark if you want some subtle night light (practically, on the bottom of the case, so it’s easy to hide). It comes with a wrist lanyard, too; but you can just leave it off if that’s not your style.

How we picked the best Samsung Galaxy S25 cases

We compiled this list of best Samsung Galaxy S25 cases on the days after the mobile phone preorders went live. Our first step was to look at the popular and well-reviewed brands for phone cases and, specifically, the Samsung Galaxy S line. It makes sense to go with brands that have a history of providing great phone cases for the Samsung Galaxy S24 (and older).

To help refine our categories, we factored in subcategories during our case picks, based on the most popular search terms: waterproof, MagSafe, card holder, and phone cases with a strap being the most prevalent in our research. Where practical, we favoured Samsung Galaxy S25 cases that were available for the base, S25 Plus and Ultra models, too.

From, there, it was a case of appraising the dozens of options in our shortlist relative to the price and features available. Shock/drop protection was the minimum, but we liked when a case offered more than that, too.

How to choose a Samsung Galaxy S25 phone case

The first and most critical step to buying a Samsung Galaxy S25 phone case is ensuring you’re looking at the one that matches your specific model. Internal storage doesn’t matter, but whether you’re using a base Galaxy S25, larger S25 Plus or larger still S25 Ultra will ultimately determine whether your phone will fit in the case.

From there, prioritise functionality or cosmetics, depending on which is more important to you. If you just want a basic case that protects your handset investment, there are plenty of brands offering a range of colours, materials and styles. If you want something specific, though, you may have to sacrifice the look.

Waterproof phone cases are popular but note that the Samsung Galaxy S25 has an IP68 rating, which effectively makes them dustproof and waterproof for up to 30 minutes in 1.5 metres of fresh water. But you can potentially bolster that with a waterproof case. Similarly, if you have a lot of MagSafe-compatible accessories (or want to have them), prioritise a magnetic phone safe. For something more practical, phone cases with card holders (aka wallet phone cases) are popular, as are ones with straps.
