Origin has announced it plans to raise the prices of its NBN offering from next month, with some customers looking at paying $9 per month more than the current price.
The changes kick in from July 2025 onwards, with the provider's cheapest plan now starting at $89 per month. On the other end of the roster, its faster NBN 100, NBN 250 and NBN 1000 plans are subject to the largest price hikes.

This move comes following NBN Co's latest review of wholesale pricing, which will nudge the cost it charges internet retailers like Aussie Broadband, Belong, Tangerine and Telstra upwards.
That said, it's worth remembering that Origin's NBN plans were not particularly competitive when it comes to pricing to start with.
In addition, the size of these price changes is larger than many of those being implemented by the provider's competition. Even Telstra, which is hardly known for being the cheap choice, is only hiking its prices by as much as $5 per month on selected plans. It's also worth noting that where other NBN providers are making their NBN 1000 plans cheaper, Origin doing the opposite.
Since the changes don't hit until the start of next month, you've still got time if that pivot towards a bigger price tag has you considering a change from your current internet provider. Changing your NBN plan is one of the best ways to save money on the cost of your internet because most providers tend to offer their deepest discounts to new customers rather than loyal ones.
