The unexpected box office smash Sinners is coming to Max on July 4.
Where to stream Sinners in Australia

Sinners defied expectations hitting a $364 million worldwide box office, and coming in as the eighth highest grossing film of 2025, and now it is coming to Max. While it has been available to rent or buy digitally since June 3, it will find its home internationally on Max from July 4.
The critically acclaimed story follows Smoke and Stack Moore - identical twin brothers, both played by Michael B. Jordan - for a musical, vampire adventure through time. The film is punctuated by a transcendent musical score by Ludwig Goransson, which explores the cultural impact, and the racially charged dynamics of genres like the blues and jazz.
The Moores' cousin Sammie is an aspiring guitarist, his pastor father is convinced blues music is supernatural. When he first plays at Smoke and Stack's juke joint, his musical stylings open up a portal, summoning spirits from the past and the future into the crowd, and harkening to Remmick and his vampire troops. Turns out the pastor wasn't wrong, and what follows is a poignant metaphor for black community through time.
Pitched as a horror, reviewers have hailed Sinners as a genre-defying film. It incorporates gothic elements, musical stylings, and of course supernatural horror tropes. Overwhelmingly it has been tipped as a 'must watch', and soon it will be easier to do just that.

What is Max?
Max is HBO's streaming service which only recently launched in Australia. It took back all of HBO's premium content from Binge and has already carved out a space for itself in the Aussie streaming landscape.
Since it hit the US market the streamer has gone through a few rebrands, and has another one coming up real soon. Initially launched as HBO Max it dropped the 'HBO' in 2022, and will be picking it back up again some time over winter. At least we got some good memes out of it.
The on-demand streaming service isn't limited to just HBO programming, but also includes a whole bunch of Warner Bros content. It is now your home for the likes of gritty dramas like Euphoria and silly sitcoms like 2 Broke Girls alike.
