This year, the New York sketch comedy institution Saturday Night Live celebrates its 50th season. What better way to mark the occasion than an epic anniversary special featuring some of the most memorable faces to come out of 30 Rockefeller Plaza (and more than a few celebrity and musical cameos to boot.)

Here in Australia, we're used to hearing about the latest SNL sketches days after they've already aired. But if you're like me, and your social feeds are clogged with clips from the big night, you may be wondering where to stream the entire event. Thankfully, Binge has answered the call.

On-demand in Australia, it's Saturday Night Live.

Saturday Night Live's 50th season actually kicked off in the tail end of 2024 but this year has delivered a flurry of celebrations.

SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night (available on Binge) is a four-part documentary series that delivers never-seen-before behind-the-scenes footage of the show's 50-year run, plus a deeper look at the machine with a focus on the 11th season and the infamous "More Cowbell" sketch that featured Will Ferrell, Chris Parnell, Jimmy Fallon, Chris Kattan, Horatio Sanz and Christopher Walken (who just had to have more cowbell.)

Next up was the SNL50: The Homecoming Concert, which featured musical performances from The Lonely Island, Backstreet Boys, Bad Bunny, Cher, David Byrne, Arcade Fire, The B-52s,  Miley Cyrus, Nirvana, Post Malone, Post Nirvana and more.

Unfortunately, the entire Homecoming Concert isn't available to stream in full here in Australia (but you might have some luck with a VPN and a Peacock subscription.)

Rounding out the celebrations was a three-hour spectacular Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary Special on the 16th of February. The once-in-a-lifetime special did not disappoint when it came to returning cast members, featuring Eddie Murphy, Kristen Wiig, Will Ferrell, Rachel Dratch, John Mulaney, Adam Sandler, Amy Poehler, Billy Crystal, Mike Myers, Ana Gasteyer and more. Then there were the celebrity cameos, from Sabrina Carpenter to Pedro Pascal, Kim Kardashian, Paul McCartney and more (Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds also made a brief appearance in the wake of the It Ends With Us drama.)

All in all, it was a night to be remembered. But you can do more than remember it, you can relive it on Binge, on-demand at a more suitable hour for Australia.

What is Binge?

Binge is Foxtel's second streaming service. Rather than adopt the cable-style channel packs model seen with Foxtel, Binge has a more Netflix-inspired subscription system. You pay a monthly fee, you get access to everything in the Binge library plus the features associated with your membership tier.

Check out the table below for a breakdown of how Binge compares to Australia's other streaming services.
