Where to watch Murderbot in Australia when it airs

Between Silo and Severance, Apple TV Plus has quickly become the go-to streamer for science fiction shows in recent years and Murderbot might be the next big addition to the roster. Based on The Murderbot Diaries books by Martha Wells, the science fiction comedy series is set to make its way to streaming in 2025.

Here's everything you need to know about Murderbot ahead of its debut later this year, including how many episodes are in the first season and where you'll be able to stream it in Australia.

Murderbot is an Apple TV Plus Original and therefore exclusive to the streaming service for the foreseeable future. That means that, digitally at least, Apple TV Plus is the only way you will be able to stream Murderbot online.

Apple TV Plus is a fairly simple pitch: $12.99 per month for 4K streaming on six devices (via Apple's Family Sharing.) It's a month-to-month arrangement and comes with a 7-day free trial (plenty of time to watch Murderbot if that's all you're after.)

Murderbot is a new science fiction comedy series that stars Alexander Skarsgard as the titular android, who is forced to deal with the unexpected perils and responsibilities that come with suddenly developing free will and agency in a futuristic science fiction setting.

As put by Apple:

At the time of writing, Murderbot has been greenlit for a single season. That initial run will consist of ten episodes in total.

It's not yet clear if the Apple TV Plus adaptation of Murderbot will look to adapt the other novels in the series but with seven books published (plus a trio of short stories) it's safe to say that showrunners Chris and Paul Weitz have plenty of material to work with should the series be popular enough to merit more seasons.

Murderbot is another promising addition to Apple TV Plus' roster of science fiction series. However, this particular streamer isn't the only game in town when it comes to that particular sub-genre.
