The U.S., Mexico, and Canada are co-hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The 39-day tournament kicks off on June 11 in Mexico City and ends on July 19 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

For many fans, Spanish commentators bring high-level energy with their excitement and "GOOOAAAL!!!" calls. Spanish speakers and bilingual households may want to tune into Spanish games.

It turns out there are plenty of options to watch the World Cup in Spanish or English. But you need to know which language is available.

FOX is streaming all 104 games in English. Meanwhile, Peacock also has streaming rights to all 104 games, but only in Spanish.

It gets confusing to know which platforms to sign up for or whether a digital antenna is enough to watch the World Cup. This guide will help you find the right TV setup to enjoy fútbol without having to pay twice for the same games.

Who has the rights to stream the World Cup?

81% of Americans say they know where to watch the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Yet 35% report having difficulty finding matches in the past. One hurdle with the World Cup is that they might not realize that streaming services are offered in either English or Spanish.

Here's what you need to know:

FOX and FS1: Every game is broadcast in English on FOX and FS1. 69 games are on FOX, and the remaining 34 are on FS1. Several different services offer these channels, including YouTube TV and FOX One.

Telemundo and Universo: Spanish-language broadcasts are on Telemundo and Universo channels. Telemundo is a local channel, and you can access it with a digital antenna. It's playing 92 of the 104 games. You'll have to check your local listings to verify they are playing the World Cup games. Universo is a cable channel, but they're only playing 12 games.

Streaming: Peacock is playing all World Cup games in only Spanish. You'll need the Premium or Premium Plus plans to watch. Other options include YouTube TV and Hulu + Live TV, which can broadcast in Spanish and English.

Add-ons: Streaming and cable providers may offer additional Spanish or Sports channels that cover the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Take a look at your current subscriptions to see if there's an upgrade.

Options for Spanish-only households

For 44.5% of Americans, watching the World Cup won't cost anything because they already have free options or existing subscriptions.

For Spanish-only households, you probably already have access to Spanish channels. Here are your options to maximize your game viewing:

  • Digital antenna + Telemundo: A digital antenna lets you watch the local Telemundo channel. 92 matches are available in many markets. Check local listings to confirm availability.
  • Universo: 12 games are on Universo. It's a cable channel, so you'll need to check whether it's part of your current cable or streaming service. It's probably not worth getting as an add-on unless you are a die-hard fan of the teams playing those 12 games.
  • Peacock: The simplest streaming option is Peacock, which has all 104 games in Spanish.

The most affordable option is to watch your local Telemundo channel. You'll get most of the games. If you want to see all 104 games, get Peacock Premium or Premium Plus.

Best of both worlds: Bilingual households

You may want both options to watch in English or Spanish, but you want to avoid paying twice for the same games. Here are your options for both English and Spanish coverage:

  • YouTube TV: YouTube TV has FOX, Telemundo, and Universo available. You could also choose the more affordable Sports Plan, which has FOX and Telemundo channels.
  • Hulu + Live TV: FOX, FS1, Telemundo, and Universo are available on Hulu + Live TV. View channels in your area to confirm that those channels are included.
  • Digital antenna + local Telemundo and FOX channels: Most games are available on Telemundo in Spanish. Local FOX channels may have games in English, but you'll need to check local listings to confirm coverage.

For streaming, YouTube TV is the most affordable choice, especially if you sign up for the Sports Plan. You'll get access to FOX channels streaming in English and Telemundo streaming in Spanish. Hulu + Live TV is another good option if you want entertainment channels too.

A digital antenna is the best overall option, though. Local Telemundo and FOX channels may cover most of the World Cup matches. Verify what's playing with local listings.

Watch the World Cup with a VPN

You can watch the World Cup without using a VPN. You may find that another country offers better coverage. Or you're going on a trip abroad and still want to keep up with World Cup games.

A VPN hides your device's IP address from websites. Then it replaces it with a different IP address that masks your real one. VPN providers let you choose an IP address from different locations around the world. It comes in handy if you're abroad and need access to sites back home.

Using a VPN can make it look like you're in a different country and access geographically-restricted sites. Keep in mind, streaming providers may recognize that you're using a VPN and block access.

Recap: Which is the best service for watching the World Cup?

With so many options to watch the 2026 FIFA World Cup, it's overwhelming to find the best option. Let's recap which services are a good match for Spanish and bilingual households:

  • Local channels: A digital antenna is the most affordable option. It gives you access to Telemundo for Spanish broadcasting and FOX for English commentary. You can watch most of the games on Telemundo, and local FOX coverage will vary in your area.
  • YouTube TV: For access to games in both English and Spanish, YouTube TV has you covered. The Sports plan has FOX and Telemundo channels, but you can get the premium plan to also get Universo.
  • Hulu + Live TV: A comprehensive streaming option for both English and Spanish, Hulu + Live TV has FOX, FS1, Telemundo, and Universo. You can watch every game in either language with Hulu + Live TV.
  • Peacock: Spanish-only households will appreciate that all 104 games are available in one app.
  • Universo: Die-hard World Cup fans will want to check their cable subscriptions to see if they can watch 12 games on Universo. If it's not already included, you may want to get an add-on or subscribe to Peacock to watch those 12 games.
