What can I try next?

If resetting your AirPods, AirPods Pro or AirPods Max using the steps above didn't solve your issue then the next step might be to take your earbuds into an Apple Store. Depending on the circumstances (such as how old the earbuds are and whether you have Apple Care Plus for Headphones coverage), you might be able to get a replacement sorted out for little or no cost to you. A $45 service fee may apply though.

Otherwise, Apple does offer out-of-warranty repairs for AirPods starting at $69 for issues relating to a single earbud or the charging case.
