Last September, Apple held its 'It's Glowtime' event where it officially announced the iPhone 16 as well as new AirPods, and the Apple Watch Series 10.  Almost twelve months have passed since then and the company has shown off a fresh slate of smartphones.

Here's when to expect the iPhone 17:

10 September: Apple iPhone 17 event

Apple's iPhone 17 event will be livestreamed on the 10th of September 2025.

As usual, there's no shortage of rumors and speculation about what new gadgets and other goodies that the company will be showing off. At this stage, it's safe to assume that at least four new iPhone models will be shown off.

While the iPhone 17 and its siblings will likely come with a number of improvements relative to previous models, the biggest addition here is expected to be the introduction of a new slimmer model that might end up replacing the iPhone 16 Plus in the lineup. A new set of AirPods or Apple Watch are also likely.

12 September: Apple iPhone 17 pre-orders

We all know Apple loves to do its business on a Friday.

The launch of the new iPhone sticks to the same timeline as its previous models, so pre-orders for the iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will go live on Friday the 12th of September 2025.

Once that happens, you'll be able to place an order through major retailers like Amazon if you're looking to buy it outright but if you'd prefer to pay over time, you will be able to pick the iPhone 17 up on a plan through Telstra, Optus and Vodafone.

19 September: Apple iPhone 17 release date

One week after pre-orders go live, all four iPhone 17 models will officially be available to purchase in Australia. Based on the timeline of previous iPhones, we expect this due date to fall on Friday, 19 September 2025.

If you've pre-ordered your iPhone 17, or you've signed up for a plan, Friday's the day you should expect the courier to come a'knockin' with your new Apple wares.
