OPPO will launch its first foldable phone in Australia in March: the flip phone inspired Find N2 Flip. Pre-orders for the device will start on March 2 ahead of a March 16 release date, with the handset retailing for $1,499.

OPPO Find N2 Flip

The Find N2 Flip takes its cues from devices like the Galaxy Z Flip family and the reimagined Motorola RAZR, but has a much larger external display for use when the phone is shut. Measuring in at 3.26-inch, OPPO says this screen is large enough to display up to six notifications at once.

OPPO is also trying to address other pain points with the form factor. It says the crease on the internal display is "practically invisible" and the 4,300mAh battery will last all day. Battery life has consistently been an issue with flip phone-style foldable. As with most other OPPO phones, the Find N2 Flip supports fast charging - you should go from flat to 50% in 23 minutes, and from flat to full in under an hour.

The Find N2 Flip is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ chipset and has a 6.8-inch internal display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Local models will have 8GB of RAM and 256GB of non-expandable storage. In terms of cameras, there's a 50MP primary lens, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 32MP selfie camera.

The OPPO Find N2 Flip will be available in a choice of Astral Black and Moonlight Purple. At this stage, it will only be ranged by JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman. It won't be available on a plan.
