Much to the chagrin of small phone enthusiasts, Apple killed the iPhone mini when it announced the iPhone 15. The small handset has been replaced by the Plus from the iPhone 14 onwards, and as of Apple’s latest event both the iPhone 13 mini and the iPhone 12 mini have been discontinued.

While Apple will no longer manufacture the pint-sized pocket devices, remaining stock is still available from select retailers. So if you’re hoping to get your hands on a tiny telephone, here is how to buy an iPhone 13 mini or an iPhone 12 mini before they’re gone forever.

How to buy an iPhone 13 mini

The iPhone 13 mini has only just been discontinued, so this model will likely have the most stock still available, but you won’t be able to nab one from a telco.

Buying the iPhone 13 mini outright means you’ll need to pay the whole cost up front, and find a plan with your preferred SIM provider. While it is more expensive up front, overall you can save more in the long-term if you pick a good value SIM plan. You can also cut down on costs by opting for a refurbished model instead.

Refurbed iPhones are an excellent cost-saving option, especially if you’re after a discontinued model. Since Apple supports security and software updates for up to 7 years, you can safely use any iPhone that has been released since 2016.

Below are a handful of the best deals to buy an iPhone 13 mini outright either brand new, or as a high quality refurbished model. We’ve also included cheap SIM plans to go along with your mini device.

How to buy an iPhone 12 mini

iPhone 12 mini is a few years old, and a little harder to find but there is still some availability if you know where to look. Unfortunately, no Australian telcos have any remaining stock, but you can still grab one outright, or a refurbished model in a few places.

Below are the best outright deals for the iPhone 12 mini in Australia. While these are more expensive up front, you can save money in the long run if you pick a cheap SIM plan to go with them.
