If you’ve ever found yourself yelling “what do you want” at your plants, then the Fyta Beam might be for you. This smart plant monitoring system lets your pot plants tell you if they need water, or fertiliser, or more light, and even if they’re being overrun by pests, by letting them shoot you a text. Or at least a push notification.

The Fyta beam uses two probes that assess the soil for moisture, nutrients, and heat. This data is run through an AI algorithm and contextualised into conversational prompts that your ‘plant’ can send you through the connected Fyta app. So your fern could tell you that “It is too hot” and “wants to move to the shade”, or your lilies could ask for a drink. These sensors take measurements once per hour, but you can update the frequency of that if you really need to.

It either runs via Bluetooth, or can be connected to the Fyta Hub which allows up to 500 sensors to connect via WiFi. These are only compatible with pot plants, and potting mix however and won’t give you accurate readings on plants positioned in the ground. They also only have an IPX5 rating, so realistically you’ll want to keep these indoors or undercover.

These are available to ship to Australia, but as is custom our shipping costs are excruciating. You’re looking at $51AUD on a $100AUD purchase of a single Beam and WiFi hub.
