Australian streaming service Stan has increased the price of its standard plan from $14 per month to $16 per month and the price of its premium plan from $19 per month to $21 per month.
This price rise impacts both new and existing subscribers.

New customers are already being charged the new rate, while existing subscribers will be hit with higher fees from their first billing date in October.

Stan's entry-level plan is still billed at $10 per month. Here's now pricing and inclusions compare Stan plans.

Stan's standard plan is now in line with Binge, which increased its price to $16 per month back in July. Both are still just a little cheaper than Netflix's standard plan, which goes for $16.99 per month. Netflix last increased its plan prices in Australia in November last year.

It's pretty clear that streaming is becoming more and more expensive, especially for those who subscribe to multiple services.

When compared to Netflix's premium plan, Stan is still a little more affordable. Netflix charges $22.99 per month, which is just under $2 more expensive than Stan.

Amazon Prime Video is still the cheapest mainstream service available locally, billed at $6.99 per month with no tiered options.
