Samsung’s first foray into smart rings is coming to Australia.

As per a statement by the company, the Samsung Galaxy Ring “will be made available to Australian customers exclusively at Samsung.com and Samsung Experience Stores from mid-October.”

At this stage, it looks like this will make Australia the first country in the South-East Asia and Oceania region to launch the wearable.

First shown off back at Mobile World Congress, Samsung's finger-friendly wearable promises to offer much the same level of fitness tracking in a more compact form factor than the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Watch

Aussies looking to pick up the Galaxy Ring will have nine size options to choose from, plus three colors: Titanium Black, Titanium Silver and Titanium Gold.

While Samsung is making the most of the fact that the Galaxy Ring isn’t going to come with a subscription like the one attached to its biggest rival, it sounds like the shopping experience will be pretty similar. As with the Oura Ring, consumers who shell out for the wearable will be sent a sizing kit as part of the process.

As for the cost of the ring itself, Samsung is silent for now. That said, with a local launch due in the next few weeks it’s probably safe to expect an update on this front sooner rather than later. In the meantime, Samsung Australia is taking expressions of interest via its website.
