Amaysim has refreshed its prepaid mobile plans, introducing a new option for those looking to cut costs but stay connected at faster 5G speeds.

Priced at $25 per month with 28-day expiry, the new plan includes unlimited calls and texts, 15GB of data and access to both the Optus 4G and Optus 5G network at speeds of up to 150Mbps.

The Amaysim's Unlimited 15GB plan doesn't include any roaming or international calls but it is eSIM-ready and comes with unlimited data banking. It's also replacing the outgoing Amaysim Unlimited 10GB plan, which was $22 per month. It came with just 10GB of data but no 5G coverage.

See the widget below for a sense of how the new plan fits into the rest of the Amaysim prepaid lineup.

According to Amaysim head Vir Nath, this latest refresh reinforces the MVNO's existing efforts to make 5G more affordable for everyday Aussies.

"By lowering the price of our 5G entry-level plan to just $25, we’re putting high-speed mobile connectivity within reach of even more Australians," he said.

Although the new Unlimited 15GB plan is the headliner here, it's not the only part of the picture worth talking about.

With Amaysim's Unlimited 32GB plan, Unlimited 80GB plan and Unlimited 120GB plan remaining at their previous price-points, the first two plans mentioned above now cap out at speeds of 150Mbps rather than 100MBps.

Last but not least, there's the new Unlimited 42GB plan. This is priced at $35 per month. As the name might suggest, it offers more data than the Unlimited 32GB plan but comes with many of the same perks. It's got unlimited talk, text and data banking plus unlimited standard international calls to 28 selected destinations.
