Tineco’s Floor One S7 Steam mop is the best hard floor cleaner we’ve tested so the new Floor One S9 Steam has big shoes to fill. The latest version takes much of the cleaning prowess from the previous model but adds in anti-tangle tech, a lay flat design, a thinner profile, and extended battery life.
Maintaining its cordless form factor, the S9 Steam has made some design changes for more thorough cleaning. The new lay flat design allows the vacuum/mop to unfold to 180° without losing suction, to clean underneath low line furniture. Once flat it measures in at just 12.85cm tall - just 0.35cm taller than the Roborock F25 - so it should fit underneath most furniture.
Again, similar to the F25, Tineco has redesigned the tank positioning to hold the clean water tank on top of the mop head. When we tested the Roborock device with this same design we found it to be better balanced than the former, so we anticipate to see the same results with the S9 series.
This new series also includes an anti-tangle design pulled from sister brand Ecovacs. Once untangled the hair, along with other hard debris, is separated to avoid clogging the brush. While this technology is prominent on robot vacuum cleaners, it is still a novel and useful inclusion in hand-held cleaning devices.
Along with the Steam, the series also includes the Floor One S9 Artist Pro, which is pretty similar to the Steam, but minus the steam part. It has the same 22,000 Pa suction power, fast charging, and up to 75 minutes of battery life. Both have FlashDry Technology, which uses heated fresh water to deep clean the roller back at the base station, before drying with hot air.
Both devices are available from Tineco, Harvey Norman, JB Hi-H-, Bing Lee, Costco, Retravision, Mobileciti, MyDeal, and Tech Sales Online. The Floor One S9 Artist Steam retailes for $1,499, while the S9 Artist Pro will set you back $1,299.
