Last week, Valve finally announced a firm release date for the Steam Deck in Australia: the 19th of November. Now, we can also confirm that not only is Valve planning a limited-edition White variant of the Steam Deck OLED but that it too will be available to purchase on Tuesday, the 19th of November.

This news comes hot off the heels of Valve's trip Down Under, where designers Lawrence Yang and Yazan Aldehayyat spoke to Reviews.org at length about a variety of topics, like why you shouldn't hold your breath for a Steam Deck 2, and why Valve "really badly" wanted VRR (variable refresh rate) for the Steam Deck OLED.

Tell me more about this limited-edition Steam Deck OLED

It's a fun wrinkle in Australia's Steam Deck journey that we should get a special edition variant of the popular handheld gaming console on the same day it officially launches here. But at the end of the day, the special edition is purely as palette swap. Described as a grey and white variant, the White Steam Deck OLED is only available in the 1TB storage model (the priciest Steam Deck available.)

Besides a fresh lick of paint, the White Steam Deck OLED shares the exact same specs as the regular 1TB Steam Deck OLED. It does also come with a unique white carry case too, just to sweeten the deal some.

Thankfully, it will only cost a fraction more at $1,099 in Australia ($50 more than the standard Steam Deck OLED 1TB.)
