Whether you're a longtime fan in mourning or coming to David Lynch's filmography afresh in the wake of his passing, it can be hard to know where to start.

Twin Peaks is easy enough to find over at Paramount Plus, but a lot of Lynch's older works are either scattered across a number of different services or unavailable to stream in Australia period. Fortunately, at the time of writing, almost all of Lynch's filmography is available to stream for free via Archive.org. That list includes:

  • Eraserhead (1977)
  • The Elephant Man (1980)
  • Dune (1984)
  • Blue Velvet (1986)
  • Wild at Heart (1990)
  • Industrial Symphony No. 1: The Dream of the Broken Hearted (1990)
  • Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992)
  • The Missing Pieces (2014)
  • Hotel Room (1993)
  • Lost Highway (1997)
  • The Straight Story (1999)
  • Mulholland Drive (2001)
  • Inland Empire (2006)
  • Duran Duran: Unstaged (2014)
  • The Art Life (2016)

If you're an afficiando of Lynch's work, you'll find more than just the greatest hits here. The collection even includes oddities like the TV pilot version of Mulholland Drive and the disavowed Extended Edition of Dune.

Given the community-sourced nature of video content on Archive.org, it's not crazy to speculate that this may have been done without the knowledge or consent of the rights holders involved with any of the above works. That said, for as long as this loophole sticks around, you can stream David Lynch movies for free in Australia. Enjoy it while it lasts.
