Now in its ninth season, Ryan Murphy (Glee) is taking his horror anthology series American Horror Story (AHS) back to the most iconic (and most schlocky) decade for the genre: the 1980s. As per yoosh, Murphy has enlisted the help of Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, John Carrol Lynch, Dylan McDermott, Finn Wittrock and more AHS mainstays for this twisted take on the decade’s greatest and goriest horror tropes.
AHS: 1984 is streaming on Foxtel and Binge, but you can also purchase/rent it on iTunes, Google Play and Microsoft Store.

What is AHS: 1984 all about?
AHS: 1984 is many things. It’s a concoction of 80s Hollywood horror (summer camps, jaded serial killers etc.), real-world 80s horrors (serial killer Richard Ramirez aka The Night Stalker), and nasties from AHS lore (such as John Carrol Lynch’s terrifying Mr. Jingles).
AHS has a history of convoluted plots and shoehorned cameos and this 80s rendition is no different. But to kick things off at least, we’re introduced to the grisly history of Camp Redwood, a summer camp where three counselors (and all the children) were murdered by a Groundskeeper Willie-type. Flash-forward fourteen years to 1984 where we’re introduced to Brooke Thompson (Emma Roberts), who escapes to Camp Redwood with her friends after a close encounter with the Night Stalker, Richard Ramirez (played by relative newcomer Zach Villa).
Going any further would tread into spoiler territory, but you can be sure as hell Murphy puts these young camp counselors through the wringer.
Where can I watch the rest of American Horror Story?
The American Horror Story anthology series is nine seasons long, and the seasons are weirdly spread out across a number of streaming services.
Firstly, if you want to watch all nine seasons in one place, you can stream the full collection on Binge or Foxtel Now (Binge even has an AHS Binge Centre), or rent/purchase them on iTunes, Google Play, and Microsoft Store.
Otherwise, Prime Video has five seasons: American Horror Story (Season 1), Asylum (Season 2), Coven (Season 3), Freak Show (Season 4) and Hotel (Season 5).
