With fresh flagships from Samsung, Google, and Apple on the horizon, Motorola is looking to get out ahead of the competition with its latest pair of premium devices.

The first cab off the rank here is the new Motorola Razr 60. Picking up where last year's Moto Razr 50 left off, this clamshell-style foldable is fitted out with a 3.6-inch AMOLED screen on the outside and a 6.9-inch one on the inside. The former is clocked at 90Hz. The latter goes all the way to 120Hz.

Under the hood, the Razr 60 runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 7400X processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 4500mAh battery. On the back, the device touts a 50MP wide-angle lens and a 13MP ultrawide lens. Other bells and whistles here include IP48 water resistance, a 32MP selfie camera and 256GB of storage.

Last but not least, the Motorola Razr 60 comes in two colours - Gibraltar Sea and Parfait Pink - and ships with just three years of software upgrades and four years of security updates. That's not just worse than what you'll find in comparable offerings in the same price segment, it's actually worse than some of Motorola's own budget phones like the Moto G75.

In contrast, the new Motorola Edge 60 Pro offers a more conventional design. The upshot of that familiar is that it's both leaner in form-factor and armed with additional camera hardware.

Regardless of whether you go in on the Shadow or Sparkling Grape version of the device, you're looking at a 6.7-inch pOLED display on the front and a fierce triple-lens camera setup on the back. The former comes with 4500 nits of brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate. The latter adds up a 50MP ultra-wide lens, a 50MP wide lens and a 10MP telephoto lens.

There's also a 50MP selfie shooter on the front of the Motorola Edge 60 Pro. Meanwhile, on the inside, the device is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Extreme processor, 12GB of RAM. There's also 512GB of storage plus a larger-than-usual 6000 mAh battery.

Unfortunately, as with the Motorola Razr 60, this device only comes with three years of OS upgrades and four years of security updates.

In Australia, both the Motorola Razr 60 and Motorola Edge 60 Pro are priced at $1,199 and available from July 10. The former is available exclusively through JB Hi-Fi. Meanwhile, the Motorola Edge 60 Pro can be found both there as well as Amazon Australia and Motorola's own website.

At the time of writing, the device isn't available to buy on a plan through carriers. If you're planning to pick it up anyway, you'll need to pair it up with a SIM-only plan like those seen in the widget below.
