iRobot's iconic Roomba has a new 2025 series complete with a modern redesign. The four releases feature similar style elements seen on previous models but with sleek lines, new materials, finishes, and distinctive forest green highlights.

These will feature on the Roomba 105, Roomba 205, Roomba Plus 405, and Roomba Plus 505 models, all launching locally on April 1st. Each device has improved suction, better navigation, carpet detection, object avoidance, and object sensing technology, all controlled through the newly redeveloped iRobot app.

As the numbers go up, so do the spec lists. The Roomba 105 is the base model and will be available with and without an auto-empty station. Up from there is the Roomba 205 which has DustCompactor technology which compacts debris in the dustbin to save the need for emptying it out as often. These will retail for $499, and $699 respectively.

The Plus models include mopping and fully self-cleaning docks. Both the Roomba 405 and 505 are relatively similar, but the 505 includes edge cleaning technology and heated drying for the mop at the base station. Local pricing for these are  $1,299 and $1,699 AUD respectively.

These are all launching under a largescale marketing campaign based around Roomba's new tagline "Roomba. Made for This”. It looks as if iRobot is hoping to use these machines to reposition itself as a leader in the robot vacuum space.

iRobot CEO Gary Cohen said, “The launch of these robots represents more than the consistent progress of our exceptional innovation team, they underscore the return of iRobot as the category creator and our leadership position that was established more than three decades ago."

This article has been updated with local pricing for the Roomba 405 and 505.
