Exetel has unveiled a fresh look and a new 'less is more' approach to NBN plans.

The headline here is that the provider is ditching every internet plan it previously offered in favor of a new "One Plan" in a bid to streamline its lineup for consumers.

Priced at $80 per month, the Exetel One Plan will only be available to customers with a HFC or FTTP connection. It will offer typical download speeds of up to 500Mpbs and upload speeds of up to 40Mbps. Perk-wise, there's not a lot to write home about here.

If you refer a friend, both you and them will save $1 on the cost of your internet. Alternatively, you can pay for a Warp Speed add-on to temporarily boost your typical evening speeds up to 811Mbps for an extra per day. That's about it though. There's nothing in the way of included streaming services or bundling bonuses.

That said, according to Exetel's parent company, that simplicity is being sold as part of the appeal. Superloop's group executive for consumer, Mehul Dave, framed the new plan as a gimmick-free option for customers tired of telco shenanigans.

"If you see through all the plans and promo periods and that whole game of intentional confusion and you just want fast, reliable internet – this is for you.” he said.

Exetel are taking sign-ups for its One Plan from today. Meanwhile, existing Exetel customers have the option of holding onto their current or changing to the new One Plan if their location supports it.
