The speed of Amaysim's NBN plans might be going up, but the price is going down.

To celebrate the launch of the provider's new NBN 500 and NBN 750 plans, amaysim is running a new promotion that lets new customers snag the first two months at over 50% off the usual price and then a $10 discount for the four months after that.

If you're looking at Amaysim's NBN 500 plan, that means you're paying $40 per month for the first two months and then $80 for the four months after that.

Past your sixth month with this provider, you'll be subject to the usual $90 per month price. Fortunately, this plan is a no-contract one so you're free to look around for a better deal once you reach that point.

This plan comes with unlimited data, estimated download speeds of 500Mbps and estimated upload speeds of 43Mbps. For a sense of how it compares to other NBN 500 plans, check out the widget below.

Meanwhile, those who opt for the provider's new NBN 750 plan are looking at paying $45 for the first two months and $90 for the four months following that. After that, they'll revert to the usual price of $100 per month.

This plan comes with unlimited data, estimated download speeds of 680Mbps and estimated upload speeds of 43Mbps. For a sense of how it compares to other NBN 500 plans, check out the widget below.

These deals  are set to run up until 14 October 2025 and are available to those who sign up for either Amaysim's new or existing NBN plans.

The one other thing to remember here is that if you've got a Fibre to the Curb (FTTC), Fibre to the Building (FTTB) or Fibre to the Node (FTTN) connection then you won't be able to sign up for any of the NBN 750 or NBN 500 plans mentioned above. Only locations with an FTTP or HFC connection are able to take advantage of the new faster NBN speed tiers.

Fortunately, if you're on an FTTC or FTTN connection, you can may be eligible for a free upgrade to FTTP . You'll just need to order an NBN 100 plan or above. For more information about eligibility, be sure to look up your address on the NBN Co website.

If you're still out of luck then maybe a non-NBN internet alternative like 5G home internet might be a good option to consider. Check out the widget below for a snapshot of the fastest 5G plans in Australia this month.
